Just got done bringing my stampede into the 21st century. Brushless, 2.4ghz, lipo. I went with the Castle Creations SCT Sidewinder Esc, Flysky FS-GT3B 2.4ghz Tx and Tacon 3650 3930kv brushless motor. Took it for its maiden run tonight, and OMG the power. Wheelies on demand, burnouts, I'd say it goes close to 50 mph. I knew it would be a power difference but not this big. Ive always wanted to go brushless with the stampede but it was always so expensive. Between the brushless esc and motor, and 2.4ghz radio it was right around $100. I took it to the skate park the other day and it was fun I can't imagine it now. I'm guessing it would get atleast 25 ft. of air and thats just height not length. Its INSANE. I can't wait to run it again. At 19k, if your looking for a brushless combo thats cheap you should look into this- www.ebay.com/itm/Castle-Creations-1-10-Sidewinder-ESC-SPEED-CONTROL-/130501159524?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e6279aa64and www.hobbypartz.com/96m23-car-3650-3930.htmlThis is were I bought it from. And here is the 2.4ghz radio- www.hobbypartz.com/79p-gt3b-carradio-lcd.html For $35 the radio is great, it has all the features that I would want, and rx's are only $7.40. The only thing that I dont really like is the awkward 3ch. switch, its hard to push where its located at. This has totally transformed my stampede from going mild to wild.

Wow, sounds great! I was just showing that to the wife the other night. It's way cheaper than doing the spektrum conversion.
Did you keep the Nimh or did you already have lipo?

I already had the lipo, a Protek 2s 4000 mah battery from Amainhobbies. But the ones from Hobbypartz is probably just as good and half the price.
One word of caution if you get the brushless system then you will probably have to buy a different radio, the tq AM radio that comes with the Stampede isnt up to the task of brushless. With brushless and the tq radio the range was limited to 25 ft. after 25 ft. it started getting glitches. Of course my tx is close to 8 years old and with the brushed motor the range was only 50 ft. so yours might be ok.
I'd buy both of them at the same time. I've also heard really great things about the radio, several times I've heard people say that they got glitches with 2.4ghz radios from spektrum and hitec on a certain part of there track but none with the Flysky. The manual is only offered online and is in ok chinglish but its easy enough to figure out with out the manual.
