Oh yeah baby, now here's one beautiful EDF. www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1325884&page=568Fiberlass, wood, film and foam; with the same power system as the Habu 32. It looks almost too good to risk flying it. Probably squeak in at around 900 bucks ready for a sorty over the border. Gulp.

Now that looks like fun! With that 80mm fan I bet she's got some serious power.

Yeah, it's pretty much the same as the Habu 32 set up. A guy I know has one of those and he said it was pretty hot...
Now, I think it would be even better with a 90mm like I'm going to have in my HLI, TV, F-18A Super Hornet coming on my birthday.

Yeah! That thing looks awesome!
A friend that I fly with has two Habu 32's. One is stock and the other has 3,000 watts on 10S!!! We put a small GPS on board and it hits 150mph. Unlimited vertical. But the stock Habu 32 flies incredibly well, too!
That F4 is going to be amazing! Kent

You know one of the nice things about the Platinum Series, from what I've heard, they require little, if any, airframe modifications when you hop them up. Not like the foamies. And I don't need to tell you guys about fast foamies. LOL.
Anyhow, a guy I know did the Eflite Beechcraft, Model 35 V Tail, Platinum Series, with a Power 32 and hit over 114. Now that's a hoot!

A little more than 1:1 thrust. Hmmm...I'm really curious about this one. Looks like it's a little bigger than my PZ Habu. When you get it, I'd love to get a flight review. In guessing at slow speeds and landings she's a peach with the tv.

Yes, thrust is good. By all reports it's fairly fast. 80-90, or so, mph.
The guys that have hopped it up, 110mph +, say they have some airframe issues.
Many aren't using the TV, which I find interesting. I can't see not using the TV.
Common issues: The landing gear mounts need to be re-glued to the foam. The wheel nuts can burn off from heat generated by spinning so fast. One of the TV tubes might be loose. TV servo's may not be robust enough. The flying stabs might not be secure. Rotation takes up to 600 ft.
That seems like quite a lot of potential issues, but I think it will be worth it. Some of those issues are from early aircraft so there is a good possibility at least some of those issues were resolved at the factory on later aircraft. The fixes for all of the issues are posted on the RCGroups thread.
I might wait to put this plane together until Jan. or Feb.. I'm stock piling some projects to keep from going nuts this winter. The only reason I'm getting it now is there is a better than even chance that they won't be making it anymore.
I'll be sure to post a review.
