A couple of days ago I bought another stampede and a rustler.
I bought them used for dirt cheap. These are the old school stampedes and rustlers, that come with a mechanical speed control, yeah I said a mechanical speed control. Anyway I'm thinking of upgrading the rustler and maybe try racing with it.
I might sell the stampede because do I really need 3 stampedes? And I have no use for a mechanical speed control and they go for a lot money on ebay, more than modern day stampedes. I have to get the rustler updated pretty fast if I want to race it the last race is Oct. 8.
You guys should see my shop I ran out of space on my bench to store my cars so I started putting them on the floor and I'm about out of room there too. And I dont even store my helis or planes there.

Sounds like you've got some interesting project on your hands.
If you set up the rustler for racing how will you equip it and do the set up?

What I'll probably do is take the brushless system and 2.4ghz radio from my stampede and put in it. And also buy some new wheels for it and body. Also just update everything.

I took some pics but havent had time to work on the rustler. I upgraded it with modern day electronics, now it doesnt look quite as ancient. I took the pictures with my netbook camera so they arent anything special. Heres a few pics- Attachments:

Thanks 19k. Im now in the process of upgrading it to brushless and see how it does. It didnt stay brushed very long. |
