Winter is approaching in WI and I will be tearing down and doing some upgrades. It is a 6s set up, I have no need for the 12s setup, as I don't do any 3d, just fff and the occasional loop if my cajones are feeling large. I already have the Phoenix ice 100 on it and everything else is stock Align. I am thinking about upgrading the bearings, to what? Suggestions? And the motor, to what? Suggestions? Thanks in advance people!

I converted my ESP to gas... not a smart move but that's another story.
Here are my suggestions:
- the main shaft bearing blocks because the stock blocks have a lot of lateral play. This is well documented and I've had the issue myself. There are a couple of options out there ..... do your homework. I use KDE's now and am satisfied, but others have had issues with them as well. - replace the stock bearings for sure... you can get a little mileage out of them first then toss them. Though, I wouldn't get ceramics if you're still crashing some. I use RC Bearings. See the purple dude in the dealers section. He's cheaper. - when I got my ESP it came with a 75A esc and a 6S motor (I forgot the KV). The motor is fine for how you want to fly. Hopefully they've changed out the ESC because I toasted mine on it's second spin up. Actually I still have the 6S motor and am not using it.... - you might want to get a new tail. I had a small amount of wag I couldn't figure out until I replaced it. I'm using KDE Grips but not their bearings.

I've looked at the Boca ceramics, man, are they expensive. Hmmm, maybe a tail upgrade would be cool, gotta start looking more seriously.

id buy a 80 dollar bearing kit before i buy two 30 dollar boca bearings. ive bought a few bocas and im not that impressed compared to regular align bearings. i think boca is just jacked up over priced low grade abec 3. if you research you can find good bearings cheaper.
i think id i hat to say it invest in a beastx and flybarless head maybe even a align 3gx
a couple bucks and some carbon rod and you can have a super custom carbon tail rod. i bought barfed my chips at the 36 dollar uk rod. over price or atleast that flashy red rod is over priced.
my first mod will be carbon rod from the nose back since my tail servo is front mounted
i like the 1100 kv scorpion idea.maybe some wide cord mavericks 620s instead of 600s
heck maybe leave it as is and just throw a set of new bearings in it(not boca)

Just did the tail control rod upgrade, pretty straight forward. We'll see how she flies tomorrow.

ohh look up skateboard bearings or just ceramic bearings. in this size bearing there are many options and no reason to spend the boca dollars for good bearings.
i worked on job 2 years ago that just recently the goverment decided will be a davis bacon job. im look at a few grand in back pay since i was on the job for 200 plus hours. im hopeing to get a esp or 550. im not sold on the 600 pro yet. or i might just hide some money for the gasser conversion
