Look what I found over at Nitro Planes: www.nitroplanes.com/69a918-90mm-f18-blue-arf.htmlThe linkage looks like its placed in much better positions than the one over at BH. There aren't all the bell cranks and the retract door linkage looks well designed. BH has them on a string attached to the inside of the retract door. This design just looks more stable. Its priced at $329.

That's a very nice looking plane. EPO foam.
I like the servo used to close the main retract doors and the retracts appear to be servoless. Not loving the nose gear steering set-up but it may be fine.
Looks like 360 TV too. Can't see buying TV unless it's 360. You need to add 3 servos to make it work.
No dimensions I could see. Being that it's 90mm it's going to be big though.
The only other thing is that the elevator is not a flying stab. That's not accurate to the full sized plane; although a conventional elevator may be a lot more reliable than some of the flying stab set-ups I've seen.
Like kent, I've never bought anything from Nitoplanes, but I've got a couple of kit planes in the cart right now. I might pull the trigger.

Yeah, the lack of dimensions bothers me. I've seen some smaller jets with 90mm fans so I'm hesitant. Maybe I'll drop an email to NPs.

OK, this is the ultimate, not a F/A 18 but, a Mig 29. Twin 70mm fans, 360 TV, huge; 5' long with almost a 4' wing span. And, all controls are authentic to the actual aircraft complete with flying stabs. As little as 7 channels or, up to 12, if you want ejecting pilot, drag chute, smoke, etc. www.bananahobby.com/2213.htmlThe retracts are awesome. Slow, 90 degree rotation on mains and shock absorbing.

Oh yes - I've been eying that one as well. I'm curious if we could make it work with only a 7 channel receiver. It may need some on board mixers but I think it could be done.

Yep, you can make all the flying and landing functions work on 7. You'll not be able to make smoke, ejection, chutes etc. work unless it is somehow mixed with one of the 7 channels, like you say. Not sure how that would work. Need to think about that.
Or, you could have a seperate Tx and Rx for those extra functions. That would really be neat! Be kind of a juggling act though.

The video review that Pete did is really cool too. Did you check that out?

Yeah, I'm real tempted on the red version. I've got that in a twin 55mm and will get it in a twin 35mm when it comes out soon. If I got the big one I'd have a set of three. That would be really cool...If a bit obsessive.
