There are new planes on the way. One is a UM BeeGee and another is a VTOL model. Not sure whether they are PKZ or Eflite.

Yep, along with a new UMX 3D Beast! These are Eflite. These all have a new 3 axis gyro in them, so they can fly in wind like big birds! They call it AS3X. The technology is derived from the flybarless controllers in the MCP-X. Here's a link to the video talking about it: Strange. The youtube link didn't work... Here's another: youtu.be/I2XgFgo86xgI wonder how these really fly? I hope they didn't take the 'feel' out of em... Kent

Yep Kent, the new Beast too. I hadn't seen the video. Thanks for the link. I got my info second hand from somebody who'd talked to somebody at the Chicago show last week.
There's no way they could have done the BeeGee without the AS3X gyro. This is going to make flying a UM a lot easier and more precisely for everybody; especially in the wind. My Dad flew a full sized BeeGee and said it was the scariest plane he ever flew and he was a test pilot at the time. LOL.
I can see them using the AS3X system in parkflyers too. I sure could have used it in my Mig last Friday when the wind started gusting like crazy. I wouldn't be surprised if they'll have a unit for retro-fitting. If they don't Ray will do it.

That is one beautiful model.
Yep, they have two AS3X units: One that includes the radio and one that doesn't. I'm going to have to retro fit a few things just to see what a difference it will make. 3D hovers will be able to be done with a blindfold on.

Amazing. Who's gonna be the first to dive in and get it?
