One little tidbit, Doozer: If you go to your LHS and buy some light plywood of various thicknesses, these come in very handy when you need to build a bracket or to fix something in the plane. For your servos, I have had planes with cheesy servo mounting wood, too. I have taken light ply and made new ones. After they were cut out, I just epoxied them in. Mounting brackets for your extra 'stuff' is easy, if there isn't a good mounting place already there.
Also, Popsicle sticks come in handy for lots of things! For example, I used some of these to raise the servo mounts for the elevator and rudder in my Pogo E-F1 racer. These were a little deep and were hitting the aileron servo at max throws.... I also used some to beef up the wood in an ME-163 that I had... Kent

Nice thinking. I have a couple of LHS' that sell balsa and plywood. I work at a hospital and and after reading your post, I got the supply clerk to give me a box of tongue depressors. He also gave me a bunch of urine cups with the lids(new... unused). Since they are switching to a different kind, he was just going to throw them away. We both agree they make good mixing cups or screw containers ....

added a few more pics and a video. Unless I get a good deal on my crown and root canal this might be the last update until after Christmas.

Nice engine. I bet if your dentist saw it he would be sad. Very sad. "If only I had trumped up some more charges that could have been my money. Boo, Hoo, Boo, Hoooooo."

LoL. yeah, you don't know how close to the truth you are! I had to turn my pockets outs and produce lint.
Actually, my kids got together and pooled their money. The cool thing is, if they didn't have the money already, they did odd jobs for people to get the cash. What better present than that? They surprised me with the money this morning. They told me to order it so it would get here before Christmas. If it gets here before Christmas, I have to keep it under the tree so I have something to open.

Well I got to see the invoice!!! The engine itself wasn't visible... I wanted to look at it, but I promised. All I got to see was brown paper. Surprisingly UPS delivered a pretty solid package. I'll take some pictures Christmas day.

Good stuff Sol & Doozer. I knew there were different Pitts planes but didn't know all the details.
I need to add a Pitts to my Hangar. Electric of course and not too big. 40" WS max. Ideas?
