The 450 pro seems to now be the standerd. Those who buy 450s buy the pro. I have a pro clone and love it. Great little bird

From what I hear the 500/550 series T-Rex is a real nice size to fly. I'm really thinking about trying it. But I'll probably start out with the 450 to tweak my skills before moving up. Come check out my Blog at: abbottts-RCHeli.blogspot.com

If you have the money go bigger. Save money and tweak your skills in a sim. The Align head design has changed somewhat with the pro series helis. You now have a little more "tunability." At least in the larger classes, I'm not sure about minis. That is, if you are staying with a fly bar. I choose to stay with a fly bar because I converted my 600 to gas and the vibrations from gas engines cause difficulties with FBL systems. I haven't dialed out all of my vibrations yet. Still breaking in the engine somewhat.
What ever you decide have fun. We're here to help or commiserate if you need us.

I agree with you. I will probably go with the 500. Can't wait. I know the wife is not so thrilled that I'm getting back into it. But she does know I love it. Goto: abbottts-RCHeli.blogspot.com

Yes go the 500 size it is very stable and also intimidating at the same time. And if you could fly your 450 then you can fly the 500 a lot easier Welcome back to the addiction

i have to dissagree. i say skip the 500 and go 550 or 600 size . the 500 to me is jusmp a bump in the road were in needed cash is spent. if you dpont have a sim thats probly the best place to put cash rather then in a 500. look at 600 parts on ebay i started looking at prices and wonderd why ive been crashing a 450.

I think this post should be moved to maybe gereral rc talk, and welcome back to the game. This is the mods section i think we should keep all threads about mods to keep the forum uncluttered
