I need a way to store my planes. Helis are easy, and I've actually built shelves for them. But the planes are a bit of an issue. I kind of like what Gabe does with his planes. He hangs them from the ceiling, but I have a ceiling fan that takes up a bunch of real estate. I'd like to be able to keep the wings on but my smallest plane is bigger than my largest heli. I thought about hanging them from the walls, or a combination of both ceiling and the walls.
I don't have to worry about women bitching since this is in our man cave. Any ideas? And, if you've got pics please post them.

You can make a multi plane rack from PVC pipe. The vertical pieces can run from floor to ceiling spaced however you want them based on wing span. Using joints, attach as many pairs of pipes, one set per plane, to the verticals as you can for the wings to rest on. You'll want to anchor the vertical pieces to the wall. I'll try to find a photo.

I did what The Dude did for a while but I noticed the string was cutting into the wings. So now, for the ones that I hang on the wall (VS the ceiling), I screw a hook into the drywall, and then make about a 12" circle with some thick string, put on end of it over the hook and the other end over the prop. It seems to work just fine. You can always mount small piece of wood just outside where the landing gear touches the wall if the plane tends to shift right or left.
All my Strykers are hung this way.

Doozer you need to build a miniature airplane hanger so all your aircraft can set on there wheels. Then a miniature runway with lights and a tower.

If I ever get some acreage, you can bet that's what I'll end up doing! Concrete runway, mini tower, heli pad - the works!
