Looks like I'm an idiot. I didn't put the washer on that goes agaisnt the motor bearing This allowed the crank to move alittle., hopefully it didnt do any damage. good thing these 50s are cheap didnt have this washer, i dont know that it correct washer but it did come with the motor i bought used havent ran it yet but i know for sure it doesnt hurt and also moved my clutch further into the bell wich is a good thing

No washer at all. When I first put the fan on I sucked it down to where it was just of the bearing. I have a small vibe so o tore it down. It had play there with that gap. With the washerwoman there it only contacts the inner race right next to the shaft. I tightened it just enough to get rid of the play.

The fan screws down onto the shoulder of the crank and locks there no washer required
I locktited the fan on the shaft and locktited the lock nut.
I didn't when putting mine together (didn't locktite) the fan and it backed out and locked up the head

just looked at the washer you posted the link to doozer and thats definatly difrent then what i have. im thinking ill tar this apart again. just got some money in my paypal so i guess i myswell order the lynx fan and get that washer.
but ill run what i have for now and see what happens, wife ran the big city 50 miles away and is picking up some fuel 15% since were to broke to run the 30% fuel.
thanks for the replies guys.

It wont seat against the bearing it will seat on the shaft. I had the same concerns as you are having when I put mine together.
15 % fuel is fine I run 20% myself

okay making sense now. to me i used a rattle gun so i could seat the the fan houseing or mount all the way down.
with a gap between the fan and bearing allows play through the entire crank shaft. esintly the rod is walking sideways in the bore as the piston floats on the pin. were talking a slight amount 1/16" or maybe not even that much but movement none the less. i think the washer is to get rid of this play and lock it solid.

Did the first hover today. Freaking vibeis worse so I tore it back down. Its back together now with no washer. With the lock washer the clutch was contacting the inside top of the bell.
This time I sucked the clutch down no washerthen backed the nut off and cranked down the horizontal squeeze bolts the brought the nut back down with red lokt tite on it.
Test flight tommorrow

I'm getting frustrated. Just did a hover. Still have the vibe. I've messed with torgue tube gears and that hasn't changed anything. Made sure I have my fan bolted on correctly, my rpms are plenty high, and the bird flies very good. But the vibe is definitely noticeable.
I thought hovering over the phone might record something I don't see or hear. And it might of I want to load the video but I don't have internet right now so it'll have to wait or ill have to go hang out at McDonald's to use they're wifi to load it.
One thing I've noticed is the blade grips seem to have more play then normal or atleast normal compared to 450 grips. OS alittle play normal.
Thanks guys for any help

Try unbolting and rotating the fan a 1/4 or 1/2 turn and bolting it back down and see if the vibe changes. Also when I had the boom off of mine to change the servo mounts, I put it back together and it had a gear mesh issue, turns out the rear torque tube gear had been pushed out by the torque tube itself, make sure that it is seated correctly.

Here's a stupid question, I can spin my head backwords by hand. This seems odd to me because I thought the one way bearing kept it from doing that. Then I got to thinking the clutch isn't engauged so nothing is holding it.
