...at work.lol.. After two years of pug jobs and small buildings,I'm FINALLY back on a real construction site. Weather is miserable, wet and cold. Working ten hour days. Driving an hour and a half each direction. AND LOVING IT!!! I have missed being a real construction worker. No more pulling on the job and knowing it will be finished in a month...for a year or so anyway.lol....

That is to be Bloom Carrol Middle School. We're back in the saddle with Ohio Schools as well as several other state projects but I am a school builder and it feels good to be there. I took a position as a carpenter just to get on a real job site. I'd rather strap on my tools at a multi million dollar job as run work on those little $100,000 jobs. I've made mistakes that can wipe out a small job At least with a $20,000,000 budget,we can recover from mistakes.lol...

Ernie, is that a union job? Doesn't matter either way, just curious about the politics.

Ernie, is that a union job? Doesn't matter either way, just curious about the politics. I work non union and always will. I cannot afford to work union, period. Some of the trades are union. Like the iron workers and brick layers. The contract is broken up in a VERY odd way. We are the general contractor but we don't have the steel, masonry, concrete(exterior or slab on grade),roof or a bunch of other things. They broke every trade off into prime contracts. We supply all the porta johns, temporary roads, fencing(temp and perm)and we maintain the base coat of asphalt. However,we didn't put down the asphalt and have nothing to do with it but keeping it clean. In this case, general contractor means we do the general trades stuff like interior finishes and a few other things. Very strange to be the general and have no control over the masons and iron workers. Oh well.lol...
