Could it be one of the best things to helikind? I received one for Christmas and so far have 9 flights on it. In these past 9 flights my skills have progressed more than in the past year. Before this week started I wasn't able to do any nose in hovering, fly nose in, or do circuits. The Mcpx hovers hands off. One time I was able to do 10 piros in a row without touching the elevator and aileron stick. Im alot more comfortable flying nose in now and Im actually starting to make more progress in learning to fly after being in a stand still for over a year. Hopefully by the end of the week I will be able to fly in all directions and be well on my way to flying inverted. If all flybarless helicopters fly this stable I will be converting my entire fleet.

I have the 1st version, when santa's "elves" was building the mcpx to deliver to my stocking the 2nd version wasnt out yet. My tx settings are all stock except on low rates I have the dual rate set at 50% for both aileron and elevator, and expo I have it set at +50% for both. Im using a Dx6i.
Ray do you have a Mcpx or just the 5 in 1?

Both I used the 5in1 for my flybarless Huey but a shorted servo ate it so I am using an Align 3G unit Ernie found me. I have the MCPX setup a little different and it will do anything but a hands free hover it keeps me busy and nervous most the time I may try the 50% + expo and see what that does. Are you using the weighted or regular blades? Ray

Im using the weighted blades, at first I tried the regular blades and I crashed it on its maiden outside. Inorder to get an almost hands free hover you have to have it level. It will drift eventually but not bad. I also had to teach myself to be light on the sticks. No stick jamming with this heli.

Good info RC I am currently turning my blade SR into FBL I figure I cant hurt it. It fly's like a cow in outer space I think mostly due to my bad piloting skills and a very loose head not anymore I am making my own parts.. Ray

Thanks Ray, I havent heard a single good story about the Blade Sr. Between failing electronics and flying like poo. Im interested in seeing how it flies being FBL. So far I have 15 flights under my belt with the mcpx. And with each time flying Im able to hover longer nose in. I think this past flight I spent just as much time nose in as I did tail in.

I will try the weighted blades and see how that goes. Everything you have heard about the SR is probably true. I have fixed the electronic part I have the tail covered all that is left is the crappy loose head which I believe I have covered as well. We will see I am using the El-Cheapo Copter X unit for the FBL part we will see how it behaves most people that have them like them.. Ray

Well, I've got the DDVP tail and the SR flies pretty good for me. Just flew it today after some time inbetween flights. Ray says it's because I'm used to flying "Carpy" helis. That could be true. LOL.
Anyway, the mcpx V2 is supposed to be way better than the V1. Since r\c likes the V1, as many do, maybe learning to fly on "Carpy" helis like the honeybee and G2 has its advantages. ;D

A good pilot makes those crappy heli's look pretty good. 19000 is in that group.. Ray

The only differance in the V1 and V2 is the circuit board and a bigger tail prop but some have reported a little more stable hover but tail blow outs are not corrected. So the V1 may not be much worse off.. Ray

I read up on the v2 and the only real difference that would be expensive to upgrade is the new circuit board. Everything else is only a few dollars. Im satisfied with the v1 for right now. I really want to try a loop or flip but I dont want to damage the mcpx and not be able to fly it. People say that the new tail rotor is alot better but so far I havent had trouble with the old one, of course Im only doing mild flight.

I have the V2. Got it a couple days ago and just unboxed it today. It is a no more stable than the V1A and V1B and the tail is the same as always and requires a little(a lot)collective management.
The V1B and V2 are the same heli (in the air) and either will be a blast.
I have all my limits at 100% by the way and dual rates. 75% in normal to get it away from me and 100% in idle up.

Thanks Ernie, really good info. Im glad to hear kinda that the v2 flies the same as the v1 so it doesnt feel like I just wasted my money.
So far I have 25 flights on the mcpx, Ive flown it more times this week than Ive flown all my other helis in the past 6 months. I took out my novus 125 cp today and omg I could barely hover it tail in, it was so unstable compared to the mcpx. I also took out my belt cp and same thing it wasnt near as stable as the mcpx. Instead of spending my time flying, I spent my time trying to fight it to keep the belt and novus in the air.
Do all FBL helis fly as stable as the mcpx? If so I may just upgrade my entire fleet to flybarless. Cause I dont see myself ever flying my other helis this way.

The MCP X is a pretty good representation of all FBL helis.
