Eflite will be selling a programmable AS3X, 3 axis gyro, for use on a scratch build or as an installed device on any plane. Definitely this would be an asset for 3D planes. I'm thinking on a TV EDF...

I finally have a 3 axis gyro coming from HK. The first gyros they received, the second and third batch, were sold out by the time I got the stock alert.
Now to decide which jet I'm going to try it out on. Choices: F16, F/A18, F35, Su34, or Eurofighter 2000. I think I'll try it on the F35 since it is the lightest plane, more subject to bouncing around in the wind and would benefit the most during landings.
