i feel like im in a rut and my fear of crashing is keeping me from progressing with the 600.
im going to sale my dx6i and was thinkn maybe id get bind and fly mcpx to practice with something to try new things with instead of risking putn the 600 in the ground.
or would i be better off to build a crashable 500, i could round up 300-400 bucks to build 500 on the cheap.
was curious what you guys thought
thanks

Yeah, it's hard to go wrong with the MCPX. You'll learn most of what you need with it. Much smarter than risking your 600 or spending for a 500.

You know, I was in your shoes a month ago. Ive been in a rut for a year not being able to learn nose in hovering. After getting the mcpx for Christmas I was immediately able to fly nose in within the first few flights. And I became alot more comfortable flying around.
I dont think it will help you fly 3d if thats what you want it for though. When trying loops and flips its very underpowered but flying upright it does great.
Another thing you can do is make your 600 fbl, it will make flying it alot easier. Im not sure how well they work on nitros cause of vibrations but electric helis work great.

fbl works well on nitros.
i can hover and fly the nose. but i dont dare do anything more then that in fast forward flight i just dont have to the balls to do loops or flips.
3d isnt going to be my thing but id like to be able loop and flip.
maybe its just not time yet and im rushing. on side not when i was flying the 450 i was flying at the loop stage and managed quite a few with no crashes but i also crashed more when getn to that stage. right now my oreintation skills are way better then they were at that point. just fear of crashing has created the rut.
fbl is in my future but not yet. ill fly the dang flybar for all its worth first.
also been working on the sim alot more then normal. ill go fly the 600 then see what i need to work on and come home and fly the crud outa the sim, but still the rut is there
thanks for the replies guys.

I got a mcpx but have yet to get the thing in the air. My radio went out and I finally got around to sending Spectrum an email to see if they will send me the item I need, a new ele/ail. If it ever gets here and I get it changed out I will let you know what I think, until then the wait is on, no radio, no flying at all.

My Mcpx did nothing for me, I learned nose in and forward flight on my big stuff. The Mcpx feels too artificial from the fbl controller, hate it.

The MCP X is the best investment I ever made and is actually the only heli I have right now....I'll never be without one.

Nope...Getting ready for a new project. Haven't settled on a particular heli but it will definitely be one of the big bore nitros....YS120 or OS105...Tough choice. Thinking Velocity 90 with an OS105 Gasser may have to wait...again.

I've been eyeing the ys60. Got my taxes done today and might talk the wife into letn me buy a 700 airframe. It'll never seea nitro mil. I'd turn around and eBay the frame and get a hectic Gasser kit. Was also looking at 2.5mm sheets of carbonfiber. Hmmmmm
Can't wait to see your new build
