Ok guys this problem has me stumped and fustrated. I dont know if you remember but about 6 months ago I was having problems with my scratchbuilt foamies. The problem was that the motor would shut off in mid flight exactly like I hit LVC, the servos would still work fine but not the motor. But the battery would still be full.
So anyway I got tired of messing around with the esc and motor, so I went out and bought a new motor and esc and upgraded from a 18 amp to 30 amp. Well I flew the new combo today and I have the same exact problem. After flying for 2 minutes it did it again with a fully charged battery.
What could possibly cause this? I replaced the esc and the motor and it still does it. I dont get it. Its not an airframe issue because the problem happened on both my delta and extra 300. Or a BEC issue because the delta only has 3 servos. Its not a brown out either cause the servos still work fine and theres no blinking light. The receiver that I use, I use in my super cub all the time with 4 servos on it and a bigger motor. And the problem happens with all my batteries.
Thanks to anyone that can offer any help to this problem.
If it helps at all Im using- 4 tower pro servos ar6110e Exceed Rc 30 amp esc Exceed Rc Optima 370 1200kv motor Gens ace 800 3s battery and also 2s

When you try everything that effects the problem on the aircraft....radio. Sounds like a short in the throttle hold switch or maybe even a programming issue.

Also..........
How many cells do you have the ESC set for? What operating voltage did you input?
Could very well be a LVC issue if the ESC is set up for the wrong type of battery.

Thanks Ernie, I dont know if it would be the radio, Im using a Dx6i, Ive been using it for over two years on 7 other aircraft and no other problems besides this one.
On my esc the only programming option as far as the battery goes is switching between lipo and nicd, I have it set for lipo. And also cutoff threshold which I have set at 3.1 volts per cell. I might try lowering it to 2.85 or 2.6v just to see if it would change anything, it wont hurt my battery cause I never am able to fly for more than a 2 or 3 minutes at which point the voltage is still at 12.00 volts.

When you eliminate all possibilities what you are left with is usually the problem. I did not see anywhere that you change out the RX if you even have a clone one laying around use it... Ray

Thanks Ray, I think I figured out what the problem was. I talked to some people on rcgroups and they said that my motor is drawing more current than my battery can handle causing my battery to drop in voltage while in the air and prematurely hitting LVC but while on the ground the battery voltage goes up showing sufficient volts. So I need a better battery with higher mah and C's. I also need a watt meter.
