Tonight I flew for the first time in what seems like months. I flew one pack through the FBL Exi 450 and one through the Mcpx. Ive lost the ambition to fly though.
Ive been awfully busy lately, recently I graduated high school. For the last month prior to graduation I was staying up until 1 in morning just about every night trying to get homework done. I also quit my job at Mcdonalds because I found a new job working full time at a machine shop. My first day was last Thursday. Im mostly doing production work, so far I like it, atleast more then Mickey Ds. The people in the shop are a great group of people, even the boss. The best part about it is its 5 minutes from my house. Also the owner of the shop is a pilot and has his own personal landing strip across the road and a small hanger for his plane. Im hoping Ill get to fly in the plane. I was also thinking, that it would be the perfect field to fly my airplanes in, its a paved runway made for a full size plane, and the field is two country blocks wide so I would never run out of room.
Ive lost alot of interest in the hobby, I just dont have the ambition to make time to fly much anymore. I have a feeling Im going to be selling alot of my rc stuff in time to come. I will probably keep my Exi 450, Mcpx, t28 and super cub, just to keep around incase I ever want to fly again.
Most of my rc cars Ill be selling too, the last time I drove one was 3 months ago and that was only for a motivational speech I had to do for school. I did a presentation to motivate the 8th graders to try a hobby. Ill most likely sell 2 of the 3 stampedes I have, my tmaxx, emaxx, duratrax cliff climber, and maximum mt pro. So if anyone is interested shoot me a pm.
I just want to say its been alot of fun learning how to fly a helicopter with you guys, I would of never made it this far in the hobby without you guys. Ill drop in when I can. See ya!

Congrats on graduation and the new job!
At different times in your life you'll have other goals and schedules that'll keep you out of the hobby. It's impossible to keep your focus and time on too many things at once. You pick your priorities.
More than likely you'll come back to the hobby at some point in time. A lot of us have.

I've always enjoyed your posts. You've always been a very polite, young man. I don't take the time to post much anymore, but when I saw this thread I wanted a chance to say see ya. You're going to do well. Tell your parents I said congratulations... they've raised a good one and that's not so easy to do anymore.
Now get your butt enrolled in college. Take care dude...

Well RC I know we had a few Machine Shop talks in the past and I think you will really like the trade it is very rewarding but as 19000 said you will come back to this hobby I know I did. As you learn in that trade you will come back with all kinds of new ideas and you will be able to help others even more. But you really need to check in once in a while you know how Dave gets ;D ;D Good Luck.. Ray

Thanks guys, I just thought Id let you know where Ive been for the past.. 5 months. If my boss lets me fly my rc planes at his landing strip I see alot of future plane purchases. Cause then the skys the limit on how big I can build an airplane. Right now the field I fly in is limited in space and the biggest I can fly is the PZ t28. And I have to belly land in grass which gets old, but considering its just a step outside I wont complain too much. ;D
I did apply to the community college which has a good machining program, better than the university here. I got accepted, but I didnt register for any classes cause I didnt know about my job situation. But the place I work for now is really flexible about people working part time and still going to college. Also probably few can say this but, my boss is a decent guy. ;D

Thanks Ernie, it felt good to fly a couple of days ago. Its was nice to see the Exi hovering in the sky.
I asked my boss about flying and he said that he'd take me for a fly in his plane. I also told him that I fly rc planes but dont have anywhere to fly, he told me that I could probably take it to a park or something. So that basically meant no. Oh well. I still have a lot of space at my place to fly, just not a paved landing strip or a field the size of two country blocks.

Keep working on the boss. Bring in some planes for him to see. Offer to clean his plane. He sounds like a nice guy. He'll get the hint.
