Well seeing how I dont fly much anymore, have a new job, and graduated. I think its time to celebrate a little by buying a new plane. ;D Ive been looking at possibly the UM Pole Cat. Im looking for a UM sport plane that I can fly in the small field by my house. Im looking at the UM's that cost around $100. The UM t28 and p51 seem a little mild for my taste. Looking at something that will keep me on my toes and will do all the standard acrobatics. But still be able to enjoy flying. Anyone have the Parkzone UM pole cat, thoughts, opinions on it? It seems to be a solid bird.

I haven't seen the Pole Cat fly, but it is modelled after a racer, so it should be fast. I don't know that it will be. One UM that I CAN recommend is the 3d BEAST! It is incredible. It is super stable, but also super aerobatic and does 3d incredibly well. You can fly it like a normal plane, but then pull it up into a hover, and do some slow rolls, and all that you can imagine! I can't recommend this one enough. This one: www.horizonhobby.com/products/umx-beast-3d-bnf-basic-with-as3x-technology-EFLU4850I flew mine in 15 mph winds! No problem, but it shines with little wind, where you can throw it around the sky. It does amazing blenders and spins. It can do knife edge loops! Kent

Thanks Akent, the Beast looks amazing to bad it doesnt come with a battery or charger. Are you using the Eflite battery? My LHS doesn't carry the Beast, I was hoping to buy an ultra micro from there.

The Eflite and Parkzone micros are all good planes. Like kent said the Beast is great. Any of them with the brushless set up and AS3X even nicer. But, if you're looking for something to rock your world it would have to be the skyangel Rare Bear, IMO. The stock set up is nice. On a par with the best Horizon Micros and UMXes. Go 4S (using stock motor and esc) and it'll top 110mph, maybe as high as 120, and do drill bit rolls. Very good low speed performance. It's inexpensive and made of EPO. www.toysonics.com/rare-bear-4ch-mini-rc-remote-control-electric-warbird-arf-brushless-motor.htmlI've bought from Toysonics and their service is good. HobbyB and Bananahobby usually have it. You can buy them airframe, ARF and PNP. It is a blast!

That Rare Bear looks really nice, nice price too and I have just about everything that I would need to get it in the air. I watched a video of it flying stock and its fast! Im guessing it had to go close to 80 mph. But the question is can it fly slow enough to be enjoyable?

It flies nicely at any speed. 80 would be a good estimate for the stock bird.

3d hobby shop 48" epp 330 makes a great park flying plane. Its about 225 or so go buy the kit and electronics. Itl 3d or sport fly depending on your cg and power plant. Mine hand launches vertical at about 3/4 throttle and climbs outa site if I keep it climbing.

That 3dhs looks really nice, but I dont think I have enough room to fly it in my field. My PZ t28 and Super Cub are about the same size are almost too big for the field.
