Ouch! Generally helis and planks don't occupy the same airspace at a club flying field. Somebody wasn't paying attention.

I agree with ya guys, the guy flying the plane blamed it on the heli pilot because he shouted "low pass" and he didn't move for him. If the rest of pilots are like me, I focus on my aircraft and never hear whats going on around me.

yeah.... somebody owes someone a new heli.
If you know a guy's flying a heli low, calling low pass and expecting him to rush to get out of your way is pretty arrogant. Especially when your bird is making 10 times the noise his is. If you didn't get an "all clear" it's your fault for entering the other persons air space. I say it's the planker's fault... enjoy the free toothpicks.

My two cents? Where were the spotters? Many a time, out of safety as well as courtesy, some of us would stand next to a pilot, and play control tower. "You've a pattern plane south, he's up high at the moment." And someone else would spot for the other.
No spotters? Nobody owes anyone jack doodly. Lucky nobody got hurt.

Good point shaky. It's hard, next to impossible, for pilots to keep track of more than their own plane unless they are all flying in a pattern, like in plyon racing, etc. And even then, accidents happen. Having spotters greatly reduces mid-airs.
