Ok I bought some 30 amp opto esc's for a quad build I want to do got them from rctimer with simonk programming upgrade. Now How do I hook them up they do not have a bec I know I have to add a bec to make it all work but I don't know exactly the correct way to do this has anyone have an idea how to do this I know I have to take the red wire out of the connector so do I take the ground wire out also and replace with the ground wire from the bec and the positive wire also and if so what do I do with the red and black wires from the esc's LOL nothing like a puzzle

Just take the red wire out of the opto an plug that into the throttle channel and plug the bec into the battery/bind channel to power the radio.

Hmm ok that is what I was thinking forgot to mention there is 4 of them and I don't have a bind plug the other thing is this going on a new quad copter Guess what I really need to figure out is where to plug the bec into the multiwii board as I will have to take all 4 red wires out of the plugs Hmm a puzzle for sure

There should be a battery plug on that board for powering the Rx. That should work.

after studying the blueprint of the board I don't see a battery port and I looked specifically for that option with no luck. But I was wondering I have eight motor plugins and if I could plug the bec into the power lead side of one of the motor pins ? it seems feasible to me

That should work. The main thing is to not have both the ESC and BEC powered since they will fight each other and eventually one of them blows. Hence the need for pulling the positive lead on the ESC.

I don't know that brand of ESC. Basic programming is usually to put the throttle all the way up and then plug in the power and wait for the beeps and lower the throttle and that gets you full range for throttle.

Ok some progress I connected the esc to throttle channel put the power lead fron bec to the rx pushed throttle stick all the way up to top turned on radio with stick all the way up plugged battery into esc and bec pulled the throttle all the way down go 2 short beeps and one long beep So now I am assuming that the throttle range is set ?
If the throttle is set then why when I arm the quad it starts spinning the props at a really low rpm maybe a thousand rpm tried to move the trim down but does not make any difference

Well we are having success here today finally Had to go to config h program and set motor value to define motor stop at low throttle stick now it works perfectly I be so happy
