What is fool proof is to never poke a hole in your lipo. Then you don't need to keep them in a fireproof container...Just don't store them with sharp objects.

Wow, that one really popped! Not only was that one puffed pretty bad, but I'm guessing it may have also been fully charged or just pulled out from some intense usage. I've had LiPos go up before (see my Goblin Up In Flames Vid) and it wasn't nearly as explosive. Also have set many of them off and have never been able to make them pop like this.
BTW, hey guys, how's it going, been a while since I stopped in to say hello. How is everyone doing?

Great to hear from you rcdbutz. My only Lipos to go off the reservation was one that got punctured in a crash, it burnt pretty good, no explosion, with lots of smoke and another that was in a crash and was crushed, but not punctured, really puffed and hot but didn't go pyro. That one I threw in a pond, in a panic, because it was getting hotter and hotter and I thought it might blow. Most of the vids you see on big lipo explosions and fires are artificially produced by overcharging, hammers, nails, etc. I heard of one guy here locally that was storing his lipos in his garage, "for safety", afraid his house might burn down and the garage got really hot and the lipos caught fire and the garage burnt down. Just proves that the best intentions without understanding the dynamics of the situation can result in disaster.
