I have an original Walkera UFO MX400 Quadcopter. I have never gotten it off the ground for the following reasons:
When it starts to take off it begins to tip over. No matter how I try to compensate, it will begin to tip over.
When it starts up 3 motors will rev up, but the 4th waits until the other 3 are almost ready to lift off, or, I should say, tip the quad over. Could this be a defective speed controller?
Then, when the throttle is almost all the way up, it just dies completely. It is as if the battery has been disconnected, but it hasn't been disconnected.
Someone please tell me what I must do to get my bird in the air.

Yeah, the ESC isn't functioning correctly. Without directional input, when the throttle is advanced, the heli should go straight up. All four blades spinning at the same speed, more or less. The power falling off at full throttle further indicates the ESC as the problem. If that component is available for replacement; that would be the way to go in getting the heli up and flying.
