lol... me too.
Well, it was a fun little plane. All the electronics and the engine check out. The prop wasn't even scratched. The only damage was to the fuse and the left wing. Everything from the cockpit back is in perfect condition (except the wing bolt mounts were yanked from the fuse). So, I still pretty much have what I paid for since the I bought the plane used.
With a 10X6 prop, and the 10cc engine, that plane literally had unlimited vertical. The SU-26/29/31 series weren't built for speed, but that plane was fast. The only problem I had flying it was orientation, and I was getting ready to change that. I guess the crash saved me the trouble.
I'd like to replace the plane with this one: www.generalhobby.com/skyline-sbach-aerobatic-airplane-thunderbolt-p-404.html
It's $169 and it says the all up weight is lighter, but it's almost 10 inches longer, and it's wingspan is 5 inches longer. That's actually bigger than the Gee Bee R3.
My other option is a Sundowner, www.hangar-9.com/Products/RelatedParts.aspx?ProdID=HAN4725&Category=Completion%20Guides&SubCategory=2-cycle set up I think that plane looks sweet, but not as nice as the Sbach. Plus its $100 more. ...
just dreaming a bit. I want to get the new Gee Bee built first.

I'm a sucker for the Sbach. Just a very cool looking plane that flies fantastic. Even the micro. The Sundowner on the other hand is a slick pylon racer.
I think I'd opt for the Sbach with a 3axis gyro. That would be awesome, IMHO.
