They're lots of fun. Ray's family and I fly the protoX. Helimax makes some quads a bit larger, the 1SQ, etc., and one has a decent camera. The sky's the limit after that.

The plank I'm building was a gateway drug! I went to get a Kevlar Pull-Pull for the Sbach and there it sat. I've probably flown it 30 times already. It doesn't break like other micros, and it's fun to fly at night. I sort of want a bigger one now, but I know that means batteries and charging etc etc. I'm happy just plugging up to my USB port. There is some slop in the motor mounts. All four wiggle a bit. I'm not sure if that is by design, or because of a few hard landings.

They loosen up with a few hard landings. Put a drop of CA on them if they get too loose and start requiring more trim to fly right.

There is still good in you, I feel it! I saw that at my LHS when I went to get more props for my Proto and ended up buying the blade... . Check this out: Hubsan FPV X4 RTF Mini

That is really cool. FPV on the Tx. Very cheap compared to most FPV. You know Hubsan is the manufacturer for the ProtoX marketed through Estes.

I actually found a site that has a couple, but I'm holding off until I read more about them.
I had to take the Blade back and exchange it. I bought a spare battery and flew through two packs. Charged the batteries, then went to bed. Picked it up this morning and it flew for about 30 seconds just fine then it headed for the ground like it had a low battery, only the lights weren't blinking. The first thing I thought of was that the battery didn't charge. So I put the other battery in and it does the same thing. Now I'm thinking that the charger isn't working properly. So I break out the Eflite DC charger and charge each battery full. I put the first battery in, same same. Second battery same. I never crashed it or rubbed the blades. At this point I'm not sure what's going on.
So I went to the internet and looked to see if anyone had the same issue. Most people had problems because they put the props on the wrong motors, but I never touched my props, and it was flying for 30 seconds just fine. So I took it back to Hobby Bench and after Kevin tried to get it to work, they just swapped it for a new BNF and I kept all the other original stuff. This one works great so far. It comes to life with a 45C battery. It doesn't like the wind at all. I guess being only 18 grams has it's drawbacks.

This last year HH liberalized their return/exchange policy regarding product. Before then they wouldn't let a dealer take a defective product back, in most cases, and would only deal directly with the customer. Thank god they changed that policy.

If Hobby Bench had said "we can't take it back" I would have never gone back to them, policy or no policy. My kids and I have spent thousands there... and I had that thing exactly 16 hrs. Part of the Local Hobby Shop mantra is "who ya gonna take it back to when it breaks." When they can't live up to that, there really is no other reason for me to shop with my LHS. I can have parts and kits shipped right to my door... usually with free shipping, and no tax. I'm glad the changed their policy too.
Anyway... I just picked up 6 Venom 25C 1S 150's from Newegg for $25 shipped.

I was going to pull the trigger, but then I had this trouble with this quad and I wanted to read some feedback on it. Also, I've got a line on an in stock FRSky and I'm at the end of my bumming around money for a while.
