Damnit Ernie.... man.. I really want to build this one. I've just got too many irons in the fire right now. Are the blades Fiber Reinforced plastic? They look good. Align speed controllers are well made.

The tail blades are on backwards. They are right to the direction they turn. Ahhh. The tail rotor is turning backwards. I had the belt twisted. What a noob ;D I was sitting here watching the Kobalt Tools 500 when I noticed it. Well it bugged me so much I got up and fixed it. You what happens when you get your tools out.... I went ahead and harvested the organs from the G2 and started the transplant. It went pretty smooth. Some grinding. Some drilling. Some solder and glue. The pitch servo is the same as the G2.The U-shaped connector sits level at zero pitch. The servo horn is also level at 90* to the servo. Remember how I said the rudder control is on the left side? Well it means the rudder servo is mounted differently.I kinda like it now that I can see it. The elevator and aileron servos are tight but go in without any mods. They sit exactly like the G2.The linkage provided for elevator is too short.I replaced it with one from a #68B. I put the receiver in front.Sorta like my signature.I hate having them stuck up its rear.Too much hastle to work with. And there she is.It all works too. Sorry 19.You lose

Well,I smoked the tail servo.Whatever I've seen it hover so I'm done with it. I'm just going to sell it so there's no need to dump more money on it. The doner G2 is for sale too.$30 It is mechanically perfect and I have flown it. It has a brushed motor and ESC. No other electronics.

I have no idea It was sitting idle when it did it. I was actually working on the TX. I heard it humming and I got up to look it over and the tail servo was pegged CC and HOT!!!! I unplugged it and took the horn off. Let it cool and plugged it back in and it worked for a minute then pegged CC again and this time it was just dead. I think the junk a$$ gyro did it.It's been acting up bad. I think this would be a good time to try some Futaba stuff. Then again, why waste the money.I won't be flying it

When I smoked my tail servo on the Xeon it was because I forgot to put the servo horn screw on after adjusting it and the servo horn got pinned forward... it bound up and smoked. It burnt a hole right through it and toasted my ESC as well.
I'll tell you something about setting up gyros, English directions are always helpful when you can't speak Chinese or Chenglish. I really had so much trouble with the Logictech combo because of the broken English directions. Not to mention the size of the manual. The manual for the Solid G was written in close to perfect Americanized English (Curtis Youngblood is from Texas). It was also bigger than a postage stamp (again this may be a Texas thing). Even though it costs 225 dollars, with G-View. Its worth the money to me.
My next Gyro will be a Mini G.

Hey dooz.I didn't mention it because it didn't seem relevent but my servo horn screw was out.I didn't forget it.I was messing with everything trying to get a solid tail. CC,yup, all the way forward. Why would this cause the servo to stick forward?

I'm guessing that the horn rotates without the screw in grabs a little in one direction, slips in the other, and just gets to a point of no return. It wants to come back... but can't, but it keeps trying anyway. So it works itself to death. I mean... that may not be the technical way to describe it. It's just how I see it.

I don't know...I don't have those particular servos, but the screw normally just holds the arm in for the most part, it's the teeth in the arm and on the servo drive that keeps the arm from slipping during rotation. I left a screw off both a heli servo and one on a plane and they worked just fine until the one on the heli popped off when I landed it. I must have flown the plane at least a couple of times before I realized that the rudder servo screw was missing. Talk about bad pre-flighting OK, I'm ready for the "You got a few screws loose 19000?" abuse. Happy landings
