The only solder that was available at the local Radio Shack is "60/40 Rosin-Core". Is this what is used for electrical soldering for esc, battery, etc.? The guy there didnt know either.

That should work great. It's a relatively low temp solder, about 375 degrees, and flows very well.

Yeah thats what I have been using on my T-rex build and its what Finless Bob recommends and uses on the build videos on helifreak he does. Flows a lot nicer than the cheap nasty stuff I got with my soldering iron and is still cheap to buy.

Thanks Guys,
I have heard reference to 60/40 but never whether to use Rosin Core or not.

The rosin is what makes it flow so nice. Similar to flux in a non cored solder.

In a factory that produces flux core wire and solder, what do you think they call the machine that charges the flux and blends it to the wire or solder?

60/40 refers to the lead to tin ratio. That is the perfect blend for small electrical soldering. You also want to make sure that the core has rosin in it.

If you have no heat it's a flux in-capacitator. ;D

60-40 rosin core is what you want, Ranben. NEVER use acid core for electrical stuff.
But, what we fly are fluxless de-capitators. Kent

What's this preoccupation with gravity? Is there some kind of problem with the Earth's gravitational field in the future?
