You may want to talk to 19000 about the heli-max I think he had one, the only one I have seen a guy I work with has one no one seems to be able to make it fly right. Ray

First, I'll say that if your friend has no heli experience a CP will be too much to start with. Let us know more about his experience and we'll advise accordingly.
I had the Heli-Max CPv2 not the v3. It was, undoubtedly, the worst heli I've ever owned. The pitch came in and out uncontrollably. No adjustment to setup cured this issue. So, the heli was either on the ground or 8 ft. in the air within a click of the throttle. That made landings really difficult and half the time it came down like a rock; popped the head and blades which required replacing the blades, boom and feathering shaft. The supplied battery charger burn't out when I plugged the battery in and the charger wasn't even plugged into the wall. Then they recalled the lipo...The customer support folks were nice, but next to useless. They finally replaced the heli, charger and lipo, but the replacement heli behaved exactly like the first one and I never got any help with resolving the issue. They also issued some kind of electronics patch. I don't remeber what it was for, but obviously something else they were having a problem with.
I quickly retired that heli and it hangs from the "ceiling of shame" section of the den. ;D
Happy landings

Thanks 19000. Im not sure what his experience is, Ive never seen him fly. He does own a dragon fly. Not sure what kind. Im guessing a 4ch, due to the price he paid. I have looked around the internet and noticed there is not that much on the heli, only a few places to buy too.
