Yikes
That was short. Head damage. Boom for sure. Frame still intact? That's the first time you've shown your desert fly area and not the driveway.
What size is the Fusuno? That could answer my question in the Advanced section.

Haha... yeah it was a touch breezy and when I went for a nose-in stall turn I got blown back and I panicked a bit.... but that's how you learn. Didn't help that I had Heckle and Jeckle with me. About two hours before that video I flew a whole pack but there was no wind and my boys were at school. There wasn't the crash talk, or the commentary, so I could just fly.
As for the damage it could have been worse, because I drilled out the hole for the Jesus bolt, I weakened the shaft. It snapped off right at the bottom of the hub. Broke/lost a ball link, the tail broke off at the frame... no other tail damage. I chipped the tip of a blade... sanded it down and sanded the other side down to match... they work fine. The frame is toast, but I hated that frame anyway. All the electronics made it and there was no other damage. It's a neon again... and flying.

Just saw the Fusuno question... Its a modified 450 canopy that I got from KA-Planes. Kyle sells them too... but you should check out these: www.canomod.com/

Hmmm, what didn't you like about the frame?
I just got one on sale ($17). Thought about making it into a CP heli as I found a dandy price on a CNC CP head. ($48)

Yeah, saw the Canomods at HeliDirect. I figured they'd be too large, but your cut-down Fusuno looks like a good fit.

Too much plastic in the frame.... kind of like six pack holder plastic. Its actually mostly plastic if you take into account the boom mount, battery tray, bottom support plate, the bearing mounts and the skids. But that's not the part that broke. I'll take a picture tomorrow and post it so you can see. I think if I would have had boom supports, that wouldn't have happened.

All in all the crash wasn't that bad. I did have to transfer all my electronics over to another frame. So that took a little time, but I had all the spare parts on hand to fix it. Got it back up in the air leaner and meaner. This is a fun little heli to thrash around and it takes a pounding. Its my favorite heli. I slowed the video down and it looks like I clipped one of those large dirt mounds, might have saved it if it wasn't for those.
FYI: For those of you that are building this kit... drilling the hole wider on the shaft, to fit the Jesus bolt of the Extreme metal hub, weakens the shaft. Buy plenty of extra shafts!

Bikini girls with machine guns.Hmmmmm, there's a new idea.lol..... I love it..........Action.......... ;D Well, I pounded my 450 today... lost it in the sun. Then couldn't pick it back up again. White blades with sun spots didn't work out. I mean it made a thud when it hit. Got it on video. Damage wasn't horrible... the usual... bent shaft, bent feathering shaft, broken blades, broken super skids, bent boom, twisted flybar, and stripped main gear. Electronics, frame, tail, belt, boom support, stabilizer fins, and head all o.k. I have all the parts to fix it and hope to have it in the air tomorrow. We'll see. I'll post the video as soon as I finish the reconstruction.

Geez, Dooz, with the parts you have on hand you could open up a shop. Maybe we should be buying from you.

I try to have all the main "crash kit" parts. If I would have stripped a servo gear or killed the gyro, I would have been boned. However, I found a neat little "heli shop" quite near my house. They carry all the Align stuff, so if I need it, I can usually find it there. I try to order online because the price is cheaper and a don't pay a state sales tax. Between RC Super Sales, KA-Planes, and Heli Direct I pretty much have all the stock parts I need. But when I need something in a pinch.... it's Duncan's. Duncan's even carries ESKY parts.
Buying a crash kit with the heli keeps you in the air!
