Why Men Don't Write Advice Columns
Question
Dear Walter,
I hope you can help me here. The other day, I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn't driven more than a mile down the road when the engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband's help. When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes. He was in our bedroom with the neighbors' daughter. I am 32, my husband is 34, and the neighbors' daughter is 22. We have been married for ten years. When I confronted him, he broke down and admitted that they had been having an affair for the past six months. I told him to stop or I would leave him. He was let go from his job six months ago and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but ever since I gave him the ultimatum he has become even more distant towards me. He won't go to counseling and I'm afraid I can't get through to him anymore. Can you please help? Sincerely, Sheila
Answer
Dear Sheila:
A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the engine. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. If it is clear, check the vacuum pipes and hoses on the intake manifold and also check all grounding wires. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the injectors.
I hope this helps,
Walter

For a short time in my life I was an electrician the company I worked for received a call the lady that bought a new house we had wired had a problem she stated ( That everytime she flushed her upstairs toilet she tripped the breaker to her clothes dryer) I had to see this I was by the panel the dryer was running they flushed the upstairs toilet sure enough the breaker snapped hard. So we went to look at the dryer that was in another part of the house she had it running when we got there I looked up and found the problem the Realtor that sold her the house showed her the utility room for the washer and dryer when asked where she could put the dryer exhaust tube he pointed to the clean out cap for the soil pipe and said you just unscrew that and put it in there!! which was for the upstairs toilet. I told her that was wrong and that her dryer smelled like sh#t because of that the Realtor was sued. Ray

The only other funny one I had working with that company was a lady called and said (everytime she wants her kitchen light to work she has to make toast) I asked if I could go on that one as well when we got there we found that the switch that operated the light had been wired through the outlet so for it to work something had to be plugged in to complete the circuit in this case it happen to be the toaster. So for 10 yrs she had been making toast so she could have a kitchen light.....We fixed it.. Ray

I had some real idiots when I was working in the Caribbean as a dive instructor. The best was a lady that came up to us and asked if we could fill her SNORKEL with air from the tank so she could go snorkelling!! A Jamaican guy I worked with did it to humor her and thought she was taking the piss, but sure enough she was happy with it being filled and off she went. We were practically rolling in the sand with laughter. But it didn't stop there, she came back later and said: "I'm not going out again today but can you fill it for me for tomorrow?". Again the Jamaican guy said "No worries man", filled it up and off she went. Now thats funny S#&t!!!
