Depends on the motor, Dube. Which one are you using? Most of the Neon guys are using at least an 18A ESC. I put a 30A on mine just for a little leeway.

OK, I thought you might be going brushless. An 18A brushed ESC would likely work, although I haven't read much on a brushed setup with your components.
I see an AR6100E, a belted tail and a HK gyro. For a few $$ more, you could go brushless with some better suited blades and have a snappy little heli.

You could use just about anything in the 3500-4000kv range as long as you get proper blades. The stock Esky HBFP blades are only passable with low RPM motors. I used this one on my Neon www.helidirect.com/300hdx-brushless-outrunner-3800kv-motor-fan-23mm-blade-cphdx300-p-1524.hdxThe Alpha 400 from XHeli would likely work fine, too. Maybe set it up with the Extreme motor you have now and see how it goes. I'd like to see how well the Extreme 380, stock blades and belted tail all work together.

Nope, can't use a brushless ESC. Do you have the original Exceed G2 there? It should have a brushed ESC. If not, you can get one from XHeli. I have no clue as to the quality of the Exceed ESC, but I haven't heard of any brushed G2 owners having ESC issues. Your choices are few for brushed ESC's these days. www.xheli.com/exrcbrspcowk.html

OK Dube, now that you got that out of your system. What did you use for a motor and ESC? Whatever it was would likely be run on 3S. OK, spill the beans.

Well, I hate to see you give up on it. Did you get the HBK2 motor and Esky 25A ESC combo? Those ESC's are crap...ask Doozer.
Anyway, stick it back on the shelf...again...and give it another shot when you're up to it. They make a great back yard beater.
