I found something today that explains alot. For the past several weeks I have had to plug my heli in and unplug it and plug it in again to get the helicommand to initiallize.
It was still like that today but while I was messing with it I noticed that while I was holding it upside down there was no elevator movement. Not even with input from the tx.
I went through the set up routine and calibrated it and now everything works perfectly.
The Helicommand caused the fast back slide and my aggressive new pitch settings bogged the motor and caused the tail to blowout.
Take away any one of those things and I believe I could have saved it.
I have taken out some pitch and I'm dropping back to a 12T pinion.
The Helicommand is back to normal.
I am pacing the floor waiting on the tail now.

Hey Mckrackin!!!! Sorry to see that, but it's great that you figured out what happened! ==== I'm tellin' ya, I'm starting to grow some new metal gonads because of you ;D ;D ;D ;D It's too much fun hearing of your outings!! I had to experience some, too! I just did the same thing with my FIRST 3D and then my first 3D face plant today at full pitch with my Exi T450! I just lost it trying to do a forward flip after I did a successful loop earlier. The flip ended up in the sun! Where'd it go? ?? Then the sounds of shattering parts and a motor spinning at a zillion rpm... What a dummazz... The instant I lost it I should have just hit throttle hold. I kept thinking in the back of my blind little mind that I could find it again. Yeah right when it's going 100mph straight down, apparently. That's what other folks said it did... Don't know the total damage yet, but the rotor head and several parts were about 20 feet away from the heli...Never did find a few parts. But, like you, I think I have most everything I need to rebuild her!! This was with the T450, BTW. That Carbon Fiber is STRONG! I think the frame is actually Ok! Maybe not much else, though. Just got in a little too far over my head with a touch of dummazz thrown in. Kent

Kent,,,,,,THAT is how you learn!!!!!!!
I know that money stops this usually but there is and will never be a better training aid.
S#it!!!!!That trashed my heli!!! Better do it different next time.
I know we suffer from an irony that kills helis. Altitude is a friend. You are scared to get too high."WRONG". Get high and stay there when learning new stuff.
Fly high my friend ;D

This can't be true. Tell me this is NOT true. There are no such ladies on the planet. This is not something that exists. Please tell me that. Kent
