Holy crap!!!What'd you hit? Did you run over it with your car? ;D That ESC is cool looking ;D Yep, ran over it with my Toyota. Lucky I didn't hit it with my F350. I could have damaged that Ford ;D The ESC is an ACE, which I believe is an acronym for "Azzhole Crashes Every time" ;D ;D

I tore it down most of the way last night. About what I expected, except for one surprise. It sheared the bolt holding the head to the main shaft. Never did that before. Is this a common break point? Both sides were broken and kind of wedged when I disassembled. It took a lot of twisting to get that rotor head off that shaft. Interestingly, it didn't strip the main gear.

Both sides were broken and kind of wedged when I disassembled. It took a lot of twisting to get that rotor head off that shaft. Interestingly, it didn't strip the main gear. I have sheared that bolt twice. Both times, the head was also toast, as the washout pins were all bent up. I have also sheared the bolt in the gear twice, too. All of these crashes also stripped the main gear. I think these commonly break, if you hit hard with power still going. It amazing that the gear survived! Kent

Scared me Kent. I went out and looked at the washout pins. All look okay. Some good luck. ;D

That's awesome luck!
I had some of that today, too! I went out and during a loop for some reason the thing came out of it sideways and more nosed in that I like. I freaked out, but was able to keep it in the air, but it was maybe 5 feet from faceplanting at probably 100mph!!!!
It's still amazing to me when you can go 'OH CARP' and then in a millisecond or three avoid a big one! I have only been able to do that three huge times. The rest have been face plants when that close! There's something automatic that takes over, it seems, after a while.
Anyway, with 4 smacks under your belt, you will have that thing in the air in record time now! It's amazing how quickly a rebuild takes, once you done it several times! And, for some odd reason, at least for me, each time I rebuild it, the thing seems to fly better than ever! Humm.
Best, Kent

Sol, I never saw a gold trim frame before. Sharp looking. I have the frame covered though.

It's Alive! and kind of scary sounding with that 13t. Took about $17.00 to fix mostly thanks to a "crash kit" from Kent which spared me buying the frame, blades and a few odds and ends. You won't recognize this bird. I tweaked and polished. Talk about anal retentive...I took my time with this one. That is one balanced bird. I did the setup by memory, though. I need to go back over it again and see what I missed. Had it up in the air and hovered through a battery. Nice, really nice (and scary ) Pics coming

Parts Used: Frame Kit Main Shaft Feathering Shaft Blades Skids (on order) Tail shaft Servo kit Thanks for the EXI Frame as well as all the other stuff Kent! I kept the Align CF pristine for another (bad) day ;D Since I had to replace the frame anyway, I laid it open to put the servos, etc. into play and loctited everything.

She's a beaut, BT. The heli looks good, too. ;D I particularly like the extra yellowness.

I put two mistakes in the pics to see if you would catch them. Nobody said anything so I deleted the pics ;D ;D Actually one was my Doooo moment ... the tail blades were backwards in the pic. The other was my 5 year old's play ... the flybar paddles were backwards. I didn't see either until I got the heli out this evening.
