Man that thing is small. The gyro I got from you is almost 1/4 the size of that whole heli. Well I guess I will go upstairs and install that huge gyro on a big heli and then wait for the build thread to show up Anybody got a beer, all this popcorn has made me thirsty. Dave

Dave, I'm concerned. Everytime I see a picture of you, you are shorter. Now you have no legs at all. Is this a case of reverse evolution from spending too much time on that couch? ;D Happy landings

I finally got a calm day to take the T-Rex 250 SE for a real flight. Wow,,,quick little bugger,,LOL. I did a few flips and rolls,,then set up for a loop with some FFF,,,,,OMG,, this thing can do a loop in a phonebooth,,,LOL. I tried to hold an inverted hover,,I got about 3 seconds . There was a couple wind gusts,,about 10 mph, which really effected it,,,you have to stay on your toes with it,,, no smoking while airborne,,LOL!!! I still have to dial in the expo and maybe drop the pitch a little. One huge difference between this and my 500 or 600,,,when you put the nose down and drop the hammer,,,,it's GONE, ,,LOL. There is no excelleration at all,,,it is INSTANT full speed ahead!! Fun stuff!! Randy

Randy...when you bring your 250 down to land, how long does it take for the tail rotor to stop turning? Mine seems very quick, just a second or two after cutting the throttle. Normal or not? I had to re-tighten the belt after the minor crash the other day and it doesn't seem overly tight to me. Just wanna compare notes ;D I will post a video shortly to show you what I mean. I was out flying earlier just goofing around with the settings and I noticed it. Also seems a lot twitchier since the crash but everything looks ok.

Colin,,,, your pinion/main gear mesh is too tight. The tail on these are not auto-rotating,,,they are a direct drive off the main gear. So,,,the tail stops when the main gear stops even thou the main rotor keeps turning. The main rotor is on a one-way bearing,,,the tail isn't.
I can tell by the sound of your heli that the gear mesh is too tight,,,,you are losing a little power. The gear mesh on these are very touchy,,,you want the pinion as loose as possible while still not allowing any play between them. If you hold the pinion still and wiggle the main gear,,,you want it just tight enough so the main gear doesn't move but maybe a miniscule. If they are seated tight together,,,you will loose power,,,it will be louder,,,and it will stop spooling down very quick. If you watch my two videos,,,,the first one (outside) you can really hear that the gears are too tight. In the garage video,,,it is right,,,you can hear the difference!

Cool, good info there. It might have happened in the crash because it was fine before. Easy fix. Now if the damn snow storm would go away I could try it out.... Thanks dude! Colin
