Here's another flight in my garage,,,I have this setup as good as I can get it. It flies great. I got 6 1/2 minutes on the 3S 850mAh 30C battery just hovering. Probably safe for over 7 minutes of sport flying. I was trying stuff,,,I flew it with a 3S 1350mAh 25C battery,,,it handled it well, just a little nose-heavy,,,,ya think,LOL. I even strapped on a 2S 850mAh 20C (the Razor 250 battery),,,it flew good with that too,,,a little low headspeed but it was so light it zipped around.

Very cool Elk. Thought you would eat the 4 wheeler ramps a couple times.lol....
Were you in idle up?

Idle-up?,,,,sortta!! I have my normal throttle curve at 0-85-100,,,,idle 1 at 100-90-100 and idle 2 at 100-100-100. It doesn't increase at all when shifting gears. 85% seems to max it out. You know why?? Oh,,,,I actually got a lot closer to the camera than the ramps,,,I was using the camera to check blade tracking,,LOL

Maxed at 85% huh? Motor leads too small maybe?Like pouring gas through a funnel. It gets full but still comes out the small end just so fast. Maybe even the ESC allowing only so much current?

Dayum! What headspeed are you running? The thing sounds like a buzzsaw on nitrous! LOL,,,that was on a 15T pinion,,,,I just put on a 16T,,,,,as soon as I get a clear day,,I'll put the tachometer on it. It flies even better with the 16T.

Just an update on this. I ordered some feathering shafts for the T-Rex 250 from Hobby King (they call theirs the HK250GT), just to see if they fit. Got them in today and they are a direct replacement, quality seems ok and they are 95 cents for a package of two, whereas the Align shafts are $5 a pair. Great deal! I also ordered a new main gear, main shaft and tail parts so as I need to replace them I will update here on whether they fit or not, but by all accounts the HK250GT is parts-compatible with the T-Rex. Time will tell. I just love their prices!

I tried a piro for the first time with her today. Not perfect but pretty close. I have come to the conclusion that this is a VERY hard heli to fly for someone with my (lack of) skills! I had to set her down fast at the end because of a neighbor's kid coming to the left of the camera but the landing wasn't as bad as it sounds. No damage.

Elk or Colin...what's the ball size on the head linkages on that 250? I need to find some smaller balls for a scratch built I'm putting together.
