Its a sad morning for me. Lost her in the sun flying somewhere I wasn't used to. I was on my final approach making my turn to land when the sun got her, and a cross wind. Tried to correct, but it was too late - I lost her behind a building. Flew out into oncoming traffic on a major arterial highway. I heard the "smack", carefully placed my remote in the car and tip toed over to investigate. She was on the side of the road, no one stopped, sooooo I grabbed the remains and high tailed it outta there: Total damage: $102 in foam and one 3800 mah power edge battery ($140). I have no idea where the nose cone was either. I couldn't find any signs of remains.

Order new foam an piece it back together. Sometimes CA glue works if you have all the pieces. I've heard there is some foam spray you can zap on there and then sand down. I'd rather just order the foam piece that I broke and slap it back together. I'll be flyin' it again real soon. Not too worried. Its just that stupidly expensive Power Edge Battery that concerns me.
Oh yeah, I figured it was time for an Avatar change.

Yeah, that's the craps when the LiPo is worth more than the whole jet. Didn't your mother ever tell you about not playing in traffic? Somewhere out there is a nosecone that's started a new life as a traffic cone.

Man that must have REALLY smacked hard!
I have the Parkzone P51 brushless that is made from the same foam. When I first installed the Spektrum receiver, I had the ailerons reversed. Full throttle toss, climb and smackaroo. It hurt some of the foam, but I was able to epoxy it back together and I just needed to order a few of the plastic pieces. This thing hit hard, but nothing like yours!!
It's really nice they have spare parts for these. That's an expensive jet! Kent

Yup, but I swear the Power Edge gives me about 5-10mph on top speed. Its so noticeable vs the stock eflite battery. Either way, I think I'm going Zippy or Turnigy just do to cost.

There's probably some guy who was driving a convertible in that oncoming traffic that has the nose cone stuck in his forehead. Got to keep the plane away from the civilians. I have to admit to doing almost the same thing a long while back. I ws flying at a new field and didn't really reconnoiter the layout. I was doing a turn and got my plane turning wider than I anticipated, right into the sun and lost it over a subdivision. I could hear the plane so I just started doing loops until it worked it's way out of the glare. I got very lucky. So did you.

Yup, I'm really glad no one got hurt. I'm sticking to my local park from now on.
I just noticed though that the ESC is thrashed too. That alone is $110. Jeez, I'm in this rebuild about $200 now. Can't order the ESC till Tuesday when I get some funds.
Wow this blows.

So the wing and fuse came today. Wow - hats off to Parkzone. The EDF actually screws into mounts that are already in the fuse. Easiest build I've ever done - save the nosegear. If anyone knows how the servo is supposed to sit in that thing, let me know. Also, the servo arm hits the wall of the fuse. I'm stumped. The manual isn't any help either.

Just a guess here: Try revesing the servo arm to the other side or turn the servo around or install it sideways?

No dice man. She mounts lengthwise for sure, but either was the arm still hits the dang wall.
