Wow, that thing smokes. I wouldn't expect that kind of speed with that type or size of wing.

I'm with dube. I don't think I could even track that thing much less fly it. By the time I tried to turn it around it would either be in Wisconsin or North Dakota depending on which direction it was pointed. ;D I think about 100 is the fastest I'll be able to handle...Maybe

Nah, I think he learned his lesson. Learned my lesson about playing in traffic - yes; about flying things that are stupid fast, no. Currently assessing my budget to build a darkside Stryker from scratch. Approximate speed is 140mph. This could be the cheapest build yet with the most bang for my buck. I think it's about $300 for the build, maybe $350. Just a lot of reinforcement with cf tubing required, and custom motor mount, and wooden elevons, and custom tape job, and custom hollowing out of the electronics bay, and....

LOL! Yeah right! I'm going to be home all of 4 days for the rest of the month. My schedule is crazy right now. I will probably order the parts while I'm gone and have everything sitting on my doorstep ready for the beginning of April.

All that sounds good, except for one thing I have to point out. Please avoid terms like "assessing my budget" I find that can really ruin this hobby ;D ;D

Found it! Here is the post from Gryphon on rcuniverse.com:
Speed and Power have a cubic relationship (twice the speed will need 8-9 times the power).......speed and money have a relationship too but not as bad well it works more like in steps.
ARC motors are mediocre/almost medium quality and their end caps may come off at some point, and nothing bends shafts as easy as them...ask around. (in general better than other Chinese motors though).
In future hopefully you will consider HET at minimum or MEGA for best quality, power, and support.
For serious goals: Cheapest HIGH end ESC will be Castle ICE 100A. but you will need to design the rest of your system carefully (with help from others).
As reference: It takes 600W to fly at 100 MPH straight and level with no wind and no diving (if prop is not too small)
Watt = AMPs X Volts {Volts read with motor on}
Flying at up to 140-145 MPH can easily be done with bolt on parts, wooden elevons and some C.F. tubes or Strips.
