I was videoing a little of the 500 after I upped the headspeed. I was just doing a few flips and then uh oh. The sun was right in my eyes. I lost it and the thing went STRAIGHT INTO THE FOAMIE FLEET!!!!! NOTHING with wings was spared. I am not even sure it's worth repairing them. EPP is darned near indestructible, but not helicopter blade proof. I do have it on video. I may not be able to post a link until later. I'm driving this afternoon to Galveston for a national cheerleading competition that my daughter is in. UGH!!!!! Attachments:

The 500 is not too bad at all. So far: Main shaft. Feathering shaft. Main gear. Several head bearings. Tail shaft. Boom. Base plate. Landing gear and skids. Flybar. My purdy Curtis Youngblood blades. Align CF tail blades. Well, I guess after looking at the list, it's quite a few parts! The electronics of all the foamies look ok. So it's just foam that was torn up. All in all, it sure could have been worse! But, in retrospect, it was a stupid thing to do to fly into the sun! UGH! Kent

Man, you couldn't have done any better if you had aimed. The F22 looks like an easy fix, the Yak...maybe a few glued in pieces and some paint. The 500...well, that's the one that hurts.

I just watched the first video. Did the wreck start with a front flip or an outside loop?

damn, sorry to hear about, and see, that. I usually set the rest of my fleet out and fly one at a time, now I might just have to take em out of the car one at a time. I couldn't imagine how bad of a day I would have after something like that.
Whenever I do crash something in the future, I can say to myself "well, at least I didn't take out the rest of the fleet with it." You've helped me learn to accept my crashes better akent, and for that I thank you.
Glad to hear the electronics didn't get toasted, you'll have fun doing all of the rebuilds.

I just watched the first video. Did the wreck start with a front flip or an outside loop? It was a dual back flip attempt. I can't do outside loops yet! I'm not even worth a crap at flips! That was obvious in the video. I just get myself in trouble when I try to do 3d. Maybe I need to just give that up and fly FF circuits. Kent

I do the same thing as dutz. I take them out one at a time. The walk back and forth to the car doesn't do my health any harm either. ;D The only exception to that rule is if I have something to hide a heli or plane behind; like a soccer goal net.

Are those Youngbloods I see all busted up? Never noticed that before. Yep. Those were Youngbloods. They are awesome blades. Those came perfectly balanced and I never had to touch the tracking. They were just perfect. They fly quietly and seem to have more bite. Maybe too much for a novice like me. I can fly the el-cheapo CF blades smoother. The F22 is flying again, with a few scars. The carbon rod down the center of it's fuselage was shredded! I think that's why it didn't get torn up more. Kent

Oh man that blows. Sorry Kent. I think I would crawl into a corner and cry if that were me. I hate when that kinda stuff happens.
Hang in there buddy!
