Thanks guys, it should be a fun plane. Its in my house right now, but cant open it.
As for the Super Cub Ill try the 10x8 prop and see what that does for it.

How durable are the Dubro skis, I took a look at them and they seem pretty flimsy? I already have the floats on the super cub and I only have one pair of skis so I cant use them on the t28.
I was thinking about putting them on my rwd rc car and then have paddles in the back for some winter action but I dont know if the skis will hold up to the abuse of an rc car.

They are a little on the flimsy side. I reinforced mine by adding sheet plastic and Gorilla Glue inside the body and then drilled through that. They held up for a whole season. Occasionally, in very cold weather and a hard landing on ice the will crack. Just epoxy the cracked area. I don't think they'd hold up on an RC car. You might want to look at the next size up; for 20-60 size planes. They are much more robust.

I received the Dubro Skis for Xmas and installed them today, and I took my super cub out for a maiden with them on, they were alot of fun and something different. Dont try to land with them in light fluffy snow though, I did that and my super cub dove in and got covered in snow. After I shook it off the best I could I took off for another flight, and it looked like a nitro plane with the snow coming off it in the cowl, like exhaust from an engine. The skis work good in hard pack snow.

Yep, skis of any type work better on heavier snow.
We had a bit of a thaw and then a little snow and the density has been just right for skis. I've been flying the clipped wing Cub and Champ with skis. I made a set of skis for the Champ.

I took the super cub out to fly today. Looking at my wind sock aka pine tree the wind wasnt to bad so I thought.
I did a few circuits around the field and it was so windy that at full throttle with a 10x8 prop and brushless motor the SC was only going about 5 mph into the wind, going with the wind it went pretty fast. When I throttled down to about 1/2 throttle to land the SC hovered. Wonder if its possible to get it flying backwards?
For a second there I didnt know if I would get it down in one piece, it was bobbing all over the place. After I got it below the trees the wind wasnt bad and I landed which I thought was a pretty good landing considering the wind but I ended breaking a Dubro ski.

Bummer Basher. Trashed a couple of Strykers and Fun Jets landing in high winds. I find the trick is to get low enough for the ground effect "float" to kick in, nose up a little and give it just enough throttle to prevent the nose from dropping. If you master that, you should be able to land in 20mph winds.
Try try again!

Thanks Gabe. The landing was actually pretty decent, landed skis first and didnt nose over. But coasted into some rough ice and the ski cracked at the end of the runway. I can fix it though with some super glue and a sheet of lexan.
