That's awesome!
I have an MD500 fuselage that I had mounted to another 450 (I sold the heli but not the fuselage). It had a very unique sound too! It definitely reverberates through the fiberglass and to me, it sounded a lot like a turbine! Kent

Well I guess Ray and I aren't crazy. It does sound much like a Turbine. I got it outside for a few minutes before it started to rain and my photographer got a few quick shots. It was really cloudy so the lighting isn't good. The wind was blowing 5-7, but the Huey didn't even notice. This thing flies great.

There are so many soccer nets on the fields here I think they must have one for each player...Then a half dozen or so more for the visiting team.
So, when you hear me say I've flown into a soccer net, and are thinking, "What's the chance of that?", my answer will be, "It's almost a certainty; sooner or later."
That being said, I'm going to make sure the Huey isn't a net victim. I'm flying it off the end of the track and the goal in the background is farther away than it may seem.

Well there is so much to say here about this build that I am lost for words. Ray this by far has to be one of the best looking helicopters that I have ever seen. I can not even imagine what she must look like in person. 19k you are one lucky man to have been the first to fly her. Ray IMO you have a long way to go to beat this one buddy By far my most favor right photo, hope you don't mind the edit.

Yes, I'm a lucky one. Good job on the cropping of the photo too. My "photographer" did her best. I might be able to hook up with my video guy in the future.

Yes the real one does have a stubby flybar as Ernie pointed out Heliartist did offer a scale one but pulled it from the market because it did not work very well. If I had one coupled with a flybarless system I think it would have worked fine.. I could make a fake one that was there just for looks...Ray There are some still in stock but very spendy. www.fast-lad.co.uk/store/heliartist_scale_rotor_head_hauh1450sh-p-14030.html

Happy to say the Huey is certified for active flight duty and ready to deliver to the Raygun Skunk works. I had some issues with getting it back to the original settings and it turns out that I was having a binding problem. It seems to be fine now. I played with it a lot, and really, it was just a matter of getting a little more aggressive on the T&P curve to get it flying just like Ray described he wanted it. The DDVP has a lot of authority and even the cheap little gyro seems to being its' job well. Have fun with it Ray!

Thanks 19000 for your help on this project but its not over till the fat lady sings and the fat lady (Dave) told me she wants a flybarless Huey so you might just be test flying it again. I am practicing on the Blade Sr and Ernie advised me to get a MCPX to practice on as well so I did. I think that if I can fly the SR the Huey should be a walk in the park... Ray

Why would a fat lady want FBL heli? Is she going to eat it?
You'll be able to fly the SR, the mCPX and the Huey.

The Fat Lady (Dave) wants to convert the flybar into a BBQ spit for cray fish and needs the parts.
