Hi Guys I will be out for a while back in 92 I had a real bad double hernia they repaired with a mesh. A few weeks ago I was helping Dave move his money from one bank to another and the hernia repair ruptured. They have to go in a re-do the repair. It was suppose to last a lifetime I either outlived it or the patches are defective with are hospital here it was probably defective. The good part is the whole thing is covered under Dave's American Express want the number??? ;D.. Ray

Boy, that's some tough news for both Ray and Dave. Ray, outlived his projected life time repair. So, much for warranties. 22 years. That's a long time on the job Dave. A, not so good, sign of the times. Hope the best for you Dave. Cancel your CC. Ray doesn't need that many drugs.

Oh man that sucks. Sorry to hear that Ray. I've got one right above the belly button that hasn't gotten any bigger over 10 years, but I know my time's coming.
Keep us posted.

Geez, you two just have such great news. Good luck with the op, Ray. Not sure if yours was done the same way, but now they go in with a probe and a camera. Three small holes in your belly, but still a bit of recovery time. Now, you've got me wondering if mine will last. Four years now. And Dave...are you ready to retire? Or are you still wanting to work? Right about now, retirement sounds really good. At least to me.

They say doing it with a scope has a high failure rate but mine did not last a lifetime either and it was done with mesh the traditional way because it was really tore up and they could not get to it with the scope method. I did get about 20 yrs out of it to many of those years was being a human fork lift. anyway I go in at 6:45 am tomorrow.. Ray

Hey Solitaire Well a little to young to retire just yet, besides that, on the day I got laid off I signed a loan for a new truck ;Dso now I have something I haven't had in a long time......a car payment and no job lol.
Good luck tomorrow Ray and get ready for the old fart walk for a few days, been there myself some 25 years ago and mine is still holding up to this day but I do remember the old fart shuffle ;D

Wow! Bad news all around here. I'm new here ( immigrant from another another forum) and don't really know you guys yet but I'm hoping to soon. Ray, I wish you a speedy recovery and Dan, I hope you find a job soon! I guess I should feel pretty fortunate to have my health ( for the most part) and there are bad guys out there that keep me employed! Best wishes guys. Greg
