Okay, the EXI 450 SE is on the way. Couldn't go with the CF this time around, Kent. Here is what I have ordered so far (mainly to get to the 100 mark for free shipping).
Alpha 400 motor Pinion set to get the 11T Volcano 40amp ESC
I was thinking about the Telebe Gyro from Hobby Town (I think), and I am relatively clueless on the servos other than what you guys have in your threads. Honestly, I don't know what the most important features are that I need to be looking for.
I am going to order that CNC tail assembly later.

I don't want to build a POS, but I want to keep it low $ on this one. I don't know about Tower Pro. Heard some bad things. Is that what you were running previously? I know Kent had trouble.
BTW, I I meant Hobby City, not Hobby Town in my previous post.

ohh yeah and as far as features go i prefer metal gears over nylon for static reasons. static is more than likely to go though the gears than through the tiny chip board inside. but where you live static may not be an issue IDK.

As Dry as it gets around here, static could be a big issue some days.

Hey BT! Congrats on the purchase!! You will be impressed with that heli!! Your choice of a 40a ESC is a wise one. The Alpha motor is also very nice and has plenty of power. 11t pinion is also perfect! For servos, there are a bunch of them that you can use. I don't know about the Futaba's that Fergie is using, but Futaba makes awesome servos. Some of the best anywhere. I am now running the Hitec HS65HB servos in my SE for cyclic. These run around $25 each online, but my LHS actually has them for $21. Interesting. These or the metal geared version (better) HS65MG are very popular with Trex's. The MG versions normally run around $35. If you want cheaper, the HB2216MG metal geared digital servos for $20 from www.hobbycity.com are great. The only problem with these is they are not rebuildable like the Hitec's and Futaba's are. I am running one on the tail of the SE. It works well with the G401B gyro from www.cnchelicopter.com. This is a clone of the Futaba 401 gyro. They are AWESOME! These cost $36, too. If you want one cheaper, then Deal Extreme is selling them in a Lipo battery package for about 10 bucks cheaper, but you have to wait a few weeks to get them normally. You are going to LOVE that heli!! Best, Kent

Hello Kent, I am going to check out those links when I am on a better connection. Sitting on a well site monitoring a fracturing job right now. Not a good signal.
On the servos, let me show you how green I am. What criteria should be used when picking the tail and the others? I honestly am not sure what I am looking at on some of them.

I would second Mckrackin's choice! It costs more for the tail servo, but it would be a nice choice.
I'm running those HS65HB's on the cyclic as I mentioned, but not the 5065 for the tail, but I have read good things about the 5065's.
I really like the fact that you can rebuild these. The 5065MG should be indestructible in the tail.
Be sure to check out your LHS, if you have a Hobby Town nearby. $21 for the HS65HB's!
Best, Kent

I looked at my order again. I actually bought the 30 amp volcano. I could have sworn it was 40, but I was looking at so much stuff last night my brain was imagining things....CHRISTMAS! or at least that is how I felt.
Looks like max burst current on the Alpha 400 is 23 amps. Should be enough buffer, right?

Yeah, the Volcano 30 amp is what I'm running too, on the SE.
It will be fine, unless you choose to run the Towerpro SG90's. I suspect an issue with this combo and the Volcano's BEC. The BEC is 2 amps and is linear. It is really a pretty junk design. The ESC part will be fine with the Alpha motor.
If you run 'real' servos, you'll be fine with the BEC, too. Kent

Got the Hitec HS-65HB servos on the way. Also found a US source for the G401B Gyro $36 plus $5 shipping.
Still looking at the other stuff
