You will need a fuse mod for the tail motor which is still carbon brushed. You don't need a fuse for the main motor since it is brushless. The brushless motor is governed by the ESC. The ESC has a better MOSFET circuit and would take a huge - huge crash to blow the ESC. The ESC is your fuse and motor controller between the Rx and the motor.
So, just a fuse mod for the tail motor. I left both fuse mods on my heli since I had performed the 11.1v LIPO upgrade. The Brushless setup works best with the 11.1v LIPO. Let's face it, a 7.4v LIPO is not going to get you any lift regardless if you use a carbon brushed or brushless motor. Think about it, most 6-channel helis that use a brushless setup have an 11.1v LIPO installed.

I would like to have a full metal head area, but if it makes it worse then I don't. So do the parts you did not list, are they just bad in your opinion or what. Also you said they are kind of tight. Is that a big problem or small problem or something that can be fixed? Also I already have the metal head core, thats how this thread started, remember.
The best part is that from the help you gave me above, I was finally able to fly my heli and hover three times, each for about 45sec-1min. I had a problem with the tail motor spikingm posted that in a different thread.
Thanx for all the help ;D

The Metal composite blade grip head requires the metal paddle control and the Ring like push rod links in order to work. The metal swashplate is independant. The Ring like push rods are tight in the beginning causing the Flybar paddle to be somewhat tight. During flight, the flybar is a stabilizer to the FP Blades. They should always be loose. After flying and crashing because of this, the Ring like push rods started to loosen up and the flybar paddles moved freely.

Ok, so it other then that there is no problem with tightness like I had with the pivot in the rotor head. The point is that I could probably just make the ring like push rods a little looser by some means. Thanx

Absolutely correct. I did the mod with the E-xtreme HB Metal parts. They look cooler than the colored metal parts from East-coast hobbies. The composite blade grip is really a beast except for the top cover which eventually broke off. It will keep your blades straight.
I did the You-tube video of the brushless and will post soon.

Nice. I'll be sure to keep a look out for that video.
Also I'll decide whether i'll go all metal or not.

I already voted there, think I was the second one. Anyways I saw the brushless upgrade just now on your site, can't wait to buy it. Probably sometime this week. Kind of wondering though: 1. If the esc burns out, do you need a replacement. 2. if the fuse burns out, do you need a replacement. Fuses do cost a lot less.

Also how much of what fuse do I need if I will have brushless and your tail motor?

You need a fuse for the tail section. That would be the 3 amp which can be found at: www.rtf-heli.com/Falcon40fusemod.html for $0.99. I had some crashes already, the ESC appears to be able to handle it. So I wouldn't worry too much yet. I'LL let you know if it burns out. I have over 6 dozen full flights and about a dozen crashes. Most crashes were due to glitches caused by the tail motor. The brushless motor has no glitches. This week, I believe I have solved themystery of tail glitches. If you are experiencing this problem, PM me. BTW, the brushless kits are ready, limited supply, goto: www.rtf-heli.com/Falcon40brushless.html-Happy Fliyng !!!

I don't know if you noticed, but you don't have an add to cart feature for the two brushless components?

If I could I would. I'm in the business of making some money especially after testing all those brushless motors to find the right one. Brushless motors aren't cheap like regular carbon brushed motors. These motors are CNC milled prescision motors.
Anyway, I got a small batch of these motors and they are now sold out everywhere. So, I need to search for another brushless motor. If I can get them cheaper, I will pass it with the price.

Ok, I am going to buy very soon, sometime this week.
Just wondering, but if they are sold out everywhere, how do you get replacement parts if some part breaks. Or is it just temporarily out of stock.
Thanx for all the information ;D
