Thanks Mckrackin! I didn't know that Microheli already had some metal parts available!!
The blade grips are definitely the weak point of these. Also, Horizon is out of them and won't get any in until December. Several other places are also out of them. So, anyone who doesn't have any spares might want to search around and find a set. As of yesterday, Hobby Lobby still had some.
I also wonder where the weak link would move to, with a strong blade grip set??? Kent

Giggidy giggidy alright this MSR is just what the thumb doctor ordered for indoor winter flying. I got 4 batteries and I can fly until I am actually bored. How unbelievable is that. Whish I got it sooner.
Cheers.
Trevor.

I'm staying in Norway for a few weeks and I brought my MSR with me! I let everyone who wanted to fly it do so. That was fun! These guys are SO CAREFUL! Quite unlike me!
Anyway, one fellow 'had to have one' and ordered one that same day. BNF for $150!! He had been flying coaxes and some other crappy FP for a while. The spare parts dried up for those, unfortunately. They were some odd brand that I had never heard of. The FP looks something like an HBFP, but different.
He bought a Spektrum DX5 for his MSR. His is acting glitchy. I have not looked at it yet.
Is anyone here running a DX5 with the MSR or the MCX?
I have my DX7, so we'll mix and match our stuff, too, to try to figure out the problem.
Best, Kent

Alot of guys here use DX5e's but they are all ground pounders and plankers. They like them on the ground but I won't hardly even talk to the plankers anymore.

Yep, I'm ran my mCX on the DX5e for awhile. It wasn't at all glitchy.
Isn't this about the longest thread we've had here? It seems no matter what else we're flying most of us are fascinated by these little birds. Why is that? ;D
Happy landings

And when you crash you set it back up and start flying again. And if you do break something it don't cost a million dollars to repair it. Bob ;D

Yep!!! The problem with the MSR/DX5 was a non-issue. He had all the switches set to max throw and it was just really touchy for him! I showed him how both the dual rate and the gear switch make a large difference with the DX5.
I am home now and my MSR has a strange wobble in a hover now...Humm Kent

After your coffee , Kent, make sure the landing gear is snug and the canopy is fully on all four grommets. I've found these items will promote uneven flight. Hell, anything even slightly out of whack will adversely affect these little birds. I had an off and on wobble (slight) the other day and it was merely one blade just a tad tighter than the other in the grips. BTW, anyone noticed their blades slightly curling up at the tips? Maybe this has always been there...I've just not noticed it.

My wife has a long haired Chihuahua and one little thin hair warped around swashplate it flew ok but would not hover. And I had my MSR scene day one and the blades are start as a arrow. Bob

I'm looking at Ernie's "wrecked wrabbit" and I see his blades are also slightly curved longitudinally. Or am I seeing things?
