I am spearmenting with noise and the slot shape a little. The cutout opposite the prop, visible in the pre-bortak peekshore above kind of shows it. It is more quiet, but not quiet nuff.
Oh, and the motor mount was all glued with hot melt! Works great! Kent

Hey BT, that's a great price for EPP from your LHS. From Grayson, it's 8 bucks a sheet, and then you have shipping on top of that, so it's not far from that price! Welders can be found at Lowes. Probably at Home Depot too, but I found mine at Lowes. It comes in a package with two red tubes. I keep a tube in my flight box for field repairs. It takes a half hour to an hour to dry. It makes a very strong and flexible joint. Kent I'll have to pick up the Welders. It looks like another good adhesive to add to the glue arsenal. Great tip Kent Using a soldering iron or other hot tool is definitely better than cutting the foam.

I have been cutting all my CF grooves with my soldering gun. It works better and cleaner than the Dremel. I have a good idea as to how to rig a depth guide to run across my straight edge. I cut a little too deep with the F22 a couple of times. White Gorilla glue made the mistake almost invisible. Little-by-little, this thing is coming together.

I've got a hot knife attachment for my soldering iron and that is dynamite for "through" cutting and making cuts that need a more surgical approach than the soldering iron tip. I haven't even opened the box of foam from Grayson yet.

That is my largest problem. I am very inconsistent with the depth until I burn a few 10's of feet on spare foam to get the 'feel'! I look forward to that! Kent

Not sure about an iron. I'll think about that one. I'll post a pic when I play with the gun a little. I have everything I need to complete this thing tonight. All I lack is the time All I have to do is mount and hook up servos and mount the rest of the electronic. Set up the Transmitter and go. Kent, are you securing your battery with velcro only?

OK, someone explain what Gorilla Glue is to this product-challenged Canuck. Is there another name for it? Someone said UHU is similar, but I haven't seen that available in Canada, either.

I don't know if I know a good why to explain it and my bottle is in too bad of shape for me to actually read. It is a light, expanding glue. You wet one surface, put a little glue in, clamp and wait. The stuff I have is fast setting and is pretty stiff after about 30 minutes, and it DOES expand. Seems the more water the more and faster it expands. I glued some CA into some foam only to find it floated the CA out. I would say it is as strong as hot glue but much lighter. If I can read the label and get some chemical info, I'll post it. Probably there is a Canuck equivalent out there.

Thanks for the legwork, BT. A select number of distributors have it here, unbeknownst to me. I had never heard of it til 19k started on about it. Good find.

Right now it is my favorite glue. The Welders is #2 closely followed by CA and then hot glue. The Gorilla is more forgiving than the hot glue. I can take a razor to Gorilla and clean up the mess a lot easier.
BTW, 19k owns stock in the company ;D

I only have the brown Gorilla and it takes forever to set. I'm off to get some of that stuff. Thanks! Oh, and the Welder glue is a contact cement, too. You can make hinges with it. I have never tried that, but here is how. After cutting the hinge angles in the surfaces, put a light bead of Welders on both sharp edges to be joined. Run you fingers down each side to smooth it out. Do not put them together yet. Don't clean your fingers, but rub them together until the glue starts to roll up on them. Then, carefully align the hinged surfaces and touch together. Done. I plan on experimenting with this. It sure would make a much prettier hinge! Yes, I'm only using velcro for the battery. I'm using the stronger black type. Kent
