Great color choice: International Orange is NO.1 or 2 on the visibility scale.

The Six Series motor left a nice little cloud of smoke behind it mid-flight today. I stalled out on the final approach and she spiraled to the ground from about 50'. The only damage was the nose-piece, as usual. The fiberglass is unbelievably strong!
I'm thinking I may try a test run with the Mega motor on this Stryker. Gotta go buy a bigger spinner and collet though.
Working on uploading some video from my Flip.

Here's the video of the motor burnout. At the end you'll here me yell. That's when it happens:

I ended up buying a new Six Series and some small heat sinks. She scoots again! I'm saving the Mega for the Darkside build. I don't want to spoil my fun - the motor is made for 6S batteries ;D

Yep, too bad about the motor, but it could have turned out worse...As we all know very WELL. ;D

RIP orange Stryker. Lots an aileron today and it death spiraled into the channel way behind my complex. The trees and brush are too tall so I couldn't see where it landed (water channel way, by the way). I saw it floating through the brush but by the time I drove over there I couldn't figure out where it went. Someone on a boat probably grabbed it.
Oh well. More motivation to finish the darkside Stryker.

Sorry to hear that Gabe. I'm still looking for my lost J-10B.
Could you tell if the aileron it'self failed or if it was the servo? Are you planning on metal gear servos for the Dark Side build?

Wow! That's a shame!
I wonder if the servo failed, or the aileron itself failed?
Bummer.

I have a feeling is a servo. I was bringing it back around for another pass and doing some rolls when the rolls just slowed up and the elevator stopped working as well. Response on the remaining aileron only put her into a roll with no pitch response. I still had throttle response too. Also, I had lined the trailing edge and the top and bottom of the aileron with hinge tape. Either the clevis failed or the servo failed.
Oh well. Check the darkside build log in a few. I have some updates I'm throwing up there.
