Hey guys I've been around this great forum for a good while now and I'm finally graduating from Coaxials to CCPM and I'm using a 450 kit I purchased from China off of EBAY. Being this is my first build I don't have anything to compare to but this kit seems really strong and made well. Took me a couple of hours to get the frame together, wasn't hard. I'm fairly mechanical so this stuff isn't a problem. It's going to be hooking up all the electronics and the programing I'll need help on. I have all the servos installed as well as the motor and the ESC along with the gyro ; . I was trying to get an Eagle 50 up and going but being I got it from Xheli it was defective and was a waste of money. It was also really flimsy compared to this 450. I am using an alpha 400 motor; 3 tower pro servos and one a digital metal gear for the tail servo. The ESC is an Exceed proton 30 and the gyro is a Detrum Gy48V. I received an Exceed TX/RX as a gift which also turned out to be defective and is was from, you guessed it, XHELI. Well I was able to pick up a Futaba D6ex used on EBAY for $61 and I ordered a Futaba compatible from Hobby City which was recommended by Ray. When I receive it I will be back with more info and a whole bunch of question regarding the wiring to the RX and programing from the D6ex....ron Edited to remove a duplicate image tag.

Good start, Ron. I think BTCat and/or AKPhil have Futaba radios.

Great job! Sure a lot better than putting any more money in that used 50.

Thanks guys compared to the Exceed radio I was going to work with I think the Futaba is going to be a 100% improvement. I really wanted to keep this first build on an inexpensive side until I get familiar with the complete setup process. I know that Ray,19 and Sol had told me that the usual locations for the ECS and RX would be the RX under the frame and ESC up front. I decided to reverse that and put the RX up front and the ESC under the gears. I figure it will be a lot easier to get all the servo wires as well as the other wires out in the open. It should be easier, at least for me, to plug and unplug the wires instead of trying to do it in the confined space under the gears.....ron

I dont think there is any hard or fast rule on placement of the electronics. What ever works best for you and as long as it balance's out you should be just fine.. Ray

That's good thanks Ray. While I'm waiting for my Rx to arrive I might as well find out what things are which and where they go on the RX. The two left servos and the one right side servos are called what and which position on the RX do they go. The rear servo Is the rudder servo and goes where on the RX. The wire coming from The ESC gets placed where? Also the ESC has Black, red and white wires. All the servos are brown, red and orange. Which wire is Neg? That's all for now...thank you guys in advance....ron

On the esc the black and red are power red being the hot. The servo plug plugs into the throttle channel on the rx the remaining three wires are you motor leads. If the motor runs backwards reverse any two. Do yourself a favor and buy a programming card for $10 save yourself a lot of hassle. When you get your receiver your black wire will be the Neg. and the white will be the signal the receiver should be marked. Plug it in then plug all the servos in with the open side of the plug facing the same direction. You will see on all servo plugs the clips that hold the wires in place that is the open side that is the easy way.. Ray

Very nice looking build. When you get your new receiver and transmitter you will have even more fun setting it up. Good luck with it and hopefully many hours of trouble free flying.

With the brown, red and orange wires from the servos, which one is neg? I cannot remember off hand I am getting old like Dave but just take the one from your esc lay the servo one on top of it the same direction. whatever color matches up with the black wire on the esc is neg. and the other side will be the signal center is always hot.. The Brown is your neg, the red is your positive, and the orange is your common, these are your EXI servos.

Thanks guys. Ray or Shakey what does a program card do that I won't be able to do with the TX? The program card is new to me. Thanks Shakey for the pic's but I was interested in the servo wiring o the RX. The motor is pretty simple, Red to red, Black to black and yellow to blue..Correct?
