I just got my MSR today. With the stock TX it was a hand full. I immediately thought new DX6I but once I got all trims set no problem in fact WOW this thing is fast and agile. Much more durable then the MCX S300. After flying this thing my coxal's are no more fun don't get me wrong. I'm only 6 months old into this hobby but it's time for me to get rid of them upper rotors for good.

Sounds great Bob. Those cheapie controllers really don't fly all that well. BNF with any of the DSM2 is going to be the choice.
Happy landings

Anyone notice the blades on the Lama2-1 are almost identical to the MSR blades. I wounder if they will work? Anyone know?

I just picked up an MSR, too!!!!!!!!!!!! This thing is AMAZING!
It is fairly agile, but it is much more stable than the HB. I was able to land on the edge of a table that has all of my other helis on it, and that is with a fan blowing air around the room! Moving air does move it around, but not bad! I am amazed! I have only put one battery through it so far, so I have a lot to learn about it. I LOVE THE CHARGER!!!
OH, and the thing has a FIVE channel receiver!! The transmitter gear switch (if you have a 5 or more channel transmitter) is the dual rate switch! Flip the gear switch and you have MORE throw! Then, if that's not enough, there are two sets of link balls on the swash. One is longer than the other, so moving the links to those will increase the responsiveness!!! So, you have dual rates with dual sensitivities! Wow! I found right off that the stock 'mild' setup is way too mild for me. I flipped the gear switch and, "Oh yeah, that's more like it!". I haven't played with the swash links yet.
Man, these guys did it right.
I am really hoping that this little thing will let me practice all of the non-3d circuits inside!
Mine will NOT hover hands off, well not for more than a second or so. But I have air moving around in here. That actually is good news to me. I don't want an MCX like single rotor! And believe me, it's no MCX. ==== Oh, more stuff! I bought the MSR from my LHS. I also brought my Cusker modded MCX there, to show them the modded parts, as when I checked to see if they had an MSR on the phone, I asked if they wanted to see a modded MCX. They said yes. There is a girl that works there that actually knows everything about all of RC. That's impressive! She spotted the mod parts right off. They wanted to see it fly, so I flew the MCX all over the store. It is really fast now, and they were amazed by that! I was flying from one end of the store to the other and then landing on shelves and then the ends of boxes around the place.
I sold 3 MCX's for them while I was there. Then they let me fly their MSR around the shop. That is a lot more difficult, so I kept it away from most things and people. Anyway, I had quite a gathering! I should have asked for a discount! It was FUN! I've never done anything like that before.
I am off to fly this thing some more!! Kent

Oh, and there is some rule at the LHS that they can't fly customer's stuff. I invited them to fly the MCX. They said they couldn't. Bummer! But they let me fly their MSR! That was cool. Kent

I am sooooooooo jealous of you guys. I ordered an mSR on 3 August and it still hasn't arrived yet! They must have sent it by camel.

Outside, flying around before it got too dark shows that it is quick, but balloons up when you let off. In other words, you push forward on the cyclic and give it some gas and it moves. Then you let off of the cyclic and it shoots to the moon. That's ok! It just does it a lot. You have to let off or continue with cyclic if you want to turn smoothly.
I did have a gust show up and it took the MSR away. That's to be expected when the thing weighs an ounce! I just let off the throttle when it was aiming down, and all is good! It hit in some rocks. No damage!
I think this thing is growing on me, and this winter, I will have a best buddy in the house! Kent

You should give them a shout and then cancel the order from where ever else! (719) 637-0404 I bought mine at a Hobbytown in Austin. Kent

Kent, I don't think I've seen you more excited about any heli you have. ;D Happy landings Yeah, I like this little guy a lot! Not better than my other helis, but just as much! Ok. Now I'm ready to make someone a super deal on my HBFP stuff... I need to make a list. There are a ton of parts, a complete new heli in addition to the one I have been flying, etc. Kent

My MSR was flying good and then i didn't fly it for two days. I know there is the toilet boll affect but this is more like an oval affect mostly "forward and backwards". Everything seems fine the swashplate is level all screws snug and the blades are fine. Any suggestions to correct problem? Bob

Just as a note to my previous entry, my mSR arrived today (8 Sept.) It was one week in transit from Oregon to Colorado, and the Fedex tracking number I was given was "Invalid" and I couldn't get any information on it. Oh well! I've got it and will be loosing sleep for a couple of days getting familiar with it. Thanks to Akent and RWL for their suggestions.

Hey Scar, post what YOU think about the MSR!!! Well, once you get to fly it for a few batteries...
I'm a biased bastid. Mine is MUCH MORE durable than the MCX, or the HBFP, or any other heli that I have ever flown! I have crashed it at probably 20 mph into walls and ceilings. It bounces off and then finds the ground at high speed. Just let off the throttle and it is fine...The MSR is MORE than amazing. I haven't broken a thing yet. I did happen to find a glitch in the main gear, but I then ran my fingernail over the 'glitch' in the gear and it was perfect again! Kent
