Looking forward to your report since I'm considering purchasing the mCX 300. Are you binding the MSR to the MCX transmitter? Having never dealt with helicopter heaven, how does it compare to others like...helipal...redrocket...xheli, etc?

The MSR can be bound to any DSM2 Tx which includes the mCX, LP5DSM, DX6i and DX7. The best control would come from any of the last three.
Anyone with a DX6i or DX7 can use the high rate mode for increased control input on the mCX or mSR which will give faster speeds in all directions.
Happy landings

On the MSR, it's the gear switch that sets the dual rates in the heli. I tried that on the MCX and it doesn't do anything.
Man, I flew the MSR outside this afternoon! It was perfect! Zero wind and cool, just after one of those rare rains.
That's my new nose in trainer. It is the most stable single rotor ever. Kent

I was told by some users it worked on the mCX/DX6i. Guess they/I was wrong. ;D
Happy landings

Hello All, I'm new to Helis and the board. I got an MSR about two weeks ago. It's awesome. Even though I have never flown anything before Its pretty easy to learn on and completely indestructable!

I read somewhere that to get the DX6i gear switch (channel 5) to operate so that you can have dual rates on the Blade mSR (and maybe the mCX) you have to turn on channel 5 on the DX6i transmitter. Does anyone have any information on this?

I didn't mess around too much with it, though. If anyone wants a faster MCX, I can't recommend the Cusker swash mods enough. The heli is still hands off stable, but when you push the sticks around, it is FAST! Kent

Slubben - I don't know how much research you did before deciding to go with the Blade mSR as a first heli but I think that it is an excellent choice. Have fun!

I've always been curious about RC Helis. I've been in the RC scene for over 20 years racing RC cars. At one point I even purchased a use heli on eBay which came to me all broken up in pieces. Ive seen the Blade CX2 and Blade MCX at my local hobby shop for a while now but in all honesty I wanted something more scale appearing and the daul blade did not appeal to me. I saw the MSR one day and then purchased it the next. Yes it is more difficult to fly but, I can get it up in the air and hover it already so I am very happy with it.

I'd like to extend 19k's grettings and welcome you your new forum. I am also from Jersey, and I think there are at least 2 other here from the Garden State. What LHS did you buy from, I find most that I knew of have gone out of business,? Dlan

Hi there, I purchased my MSR from Maj's Hobby Shop in Saddle Brook, NJ. The owner is an experienced RC heli pilot and the shop carries mostly Align helis and parts for them as well as the Blade series of helis. It's located in Bergen County, NJ. Not sure if you'd want to make the trek up to the shop but, he has a lot of heli parts and the owner and a group of people fly on Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings.
