It has flanged bearings and delprin inserts in the ball links. Super nice tail set up.You'll have to swap the belt out. The G2 belt is way longer than a Trex if memory serves.

how long do i need to fly with the g2 untill i move up? 450 500 600 700 and so on? As soon as you fly out five batteries in a row with no crashes. The G2 handles pretty much the same as a 450. The 450 is easier to set up. If I were you,I'd get a nice radio and receiver like the DX6i or DX7 and use it to fly the G2 for a while. Learning the radio is as important as learning the heli. More important for a 450. When you move to the 450 or 500,there will be a few more things to learn in the radio like swash mixing but the G2 will teach you how to program lots of stuff like expo, throttle curves, pitch curves, travel limits, gyro sensitivity and a host of other things. Since you have a nice 6ch heli, get a good radio next.

Sounds like the tail servo was giving up the ghost or the belt was slipping bad.
A 450 will be easier to set up and quite a bit easier to hover. You can use almost everything from the G2 on a 450. Motor,ESC,servos,gyro....
Tough call.It is a brushless G2,right?

Can anybody tell me the size and ratings of the 'stock' lipo for the G2? I'm going broke buying batteries that won't fit! And where can be purchased? Thanks

I believe that would be a 11.1 1200 mAH RTF-Heli offers this which I use www.rtf-heli.com/Walkera36.htmlXheli has this in stock www.xheli.com/50h08-50.htmlAnd you might search around over at Hobby King to see what they offer. What have you been getting. Might suggest if you don't want to keep them to place post to see if anybody would be interested. Dave

Hi Dave! I had found the one at xheli, but it didn't have dim.'s listed. I missed the one at rtf, thanks. I have found 1800 25c on flebay, thinking of trying them because with my current setup only get 4-5 min flight. IF I ever get batteries and return to flight, hope to continue post I started last week.
Ya, I've got 2 Tenergy 2200 25C with dean's NIB. I'll post in the want ad's tonight

Stock set up: A 1100-1300 work well because of the low weight that compliments the less than robust brushed motor. 1800's-2200's are too big and heavy for anything other than mild sport flying and don't like the stock battery tray. They also throw the CG way off unless mounted under the battery tray between the skids.
Zippy Flightmax 1500's from HK are the perfect size for the G2 if you upgrade to brushless. Not too heavy with the increased power and also doesn't upset the CG or roll balance because they fit in the battery tray.

19000rpm thanks, I'm flying an alpha 400 with 30A esc. I bought the battery motor and esc as an 'upgrade' from xheli. The battery has been a ? from day one it's totaly unmarked. It's either a 1800 or 2200 10c. If it is a 1800, I've overdrawn it. But when first got the helo together it would boogie!!! I also have a cnc/walkera 'mutt' I'm building, wanted a batt. suitable for both, and that enclosed batt tray is a pain!

The Tunigy 1600 mAH 3S 20C that RTF offers works great with the G2. The only thing you have to watch is how far back you plut it as it will catch on the motor, how do I know been there and it makes a really bad stink plus it wears off the first layer of plastic wrap on the battery but the motor never stops or slows Dave

Yeah, it's really important not to draw the battery down too far or you'll ruin it. Try to be sensitive to the first drop in performance. When that happens it's time to quit. Your batteries will last longer even if your flight time are a little shorter. For more flight time have multiple batteries. For your set up a 1500-1600 20C battery like the one Dave recommended is the best for all round performance.

My batteries arrived! They fit, and they balance!! 9.2 grams lighter to boot. BQY 11.1v 25C 1800 Mah. I'll get the connectors on tonight, I'll have to relocate the esc. But that's cool, I'm going to put it out in the wind under the frame Anyway, the G2 will be back flying, and maybe I'll have ended the wobbly tail also
