Ordered the esc for the copterX 450 that's been started and is setting on the bench since the first. Try to get it finished this week. THEN, G2 is going to get a TOTAL strip and rebuild. Wifey wants 'her' G2 back in the air! LOL. I done been TOLD!!!! Looks like I will get to keep the landing gear. And the gyro, maybe?

That's all that's salvageable? Skids and a gyro? Maybe it's time wifey got a 450 ;D You can really colour coordinate those. A 'his and hers" pair of 450's.

Well, I'm keeping the tail housing halfs and the fins, too. lol I was in a shallow descent all the way across field pulled into an almost 90 bank left, had it really moving. When I pulled for altitude it didn't. Didn't realize was in trouble until after, when Wifey said "ooh da&*N" Hit on the left side, not fast downward, but fast forward. Started in Nov., my first total, or anything worse than blades. tipping ground. Main gear spun on shaft. One set screw was soft. Had locktite on it, but not holding. I'm thinking either grease/oil on setscrew and locktite didn't bite or lower bearing overheated and cooked locktite. I did just put 13t pinion in and it was really snapping the blades. Wifey found it on craig's list, and she thinks it looks like a yellowjacket in flight ;D We've got a few of them around here. 'Kat

You want to keep the wife happy. So, do what you've been tolt to do boy. The big drawback is obviously the plastic parts. It's amamzing it flies as well as it does and lasts more than one aggressive filght at a time. Gotta love it.

I am trying to find a part for my G2 but I am having a hard time identifying what it's called. It is the small horizontal shaft running through the rotor head into the blade grips. I have seen it called different things , none of which match the parts list on the order form. I think it may be called the transverse shaft but I am not sure. Thanks for any help.

In most cases that's called a feathering shaft, but in this case I think you're right. Transverse Shaft is how it's listed. www.xheli.com/50h08-11.html

Thanks Solitaire, maybe I will get this thing back in the air, they have an aluminum upgrade for a feathering shaft, but course it is out of stock.

I got the G2 put back together. Now I am having problems with the main shaft spinning loose from the collar. It flies good but when I bring it down and stop it hard before it hits the ground is when it spins loose. I don't have it in 3d when this happens. I tighten it back up but it has happened three times now. Is there a certain place on the main shaft that the screws have to hit ?

Are you talking about where the main gear collar fits the bottom of the shaft? If so...
Is the set screw loosening? Does it need threadlock? Is the shaft all the way into the collar? You could always file a small flat spot on the shaft for the set screw to seat better.

There are two set screws in the main shaft retaining collar under the main gear. The collar's location is about 1/8" up the shaft.

Very hot isn't good. Does everything rotate freely? Main gear and pinion mated too tightly? Changed servos or motor recently?
