Either everybody's bored with this thread or I'm the only one flying except Gabe and he isn't posting here for some reason. ;D This is my week for plane crashes. The middle cell on my 2200 flight max died, 5 mins into what should have been at least a 10 min flight, and the corsair lost thrust and all control and went in wing first and darn near broke the wing completely off. Thank god for Gorilla Glue. I had previously repaired the balance lead on the lipo inside the pack on the middle cell. I had used it a number of times and then noticed it had broken again inside the pack. I opened it up and resoldered it and charged and checked it before the flight. I must have overheated and killed the cell when I soldered it the second time. I wonder why that bad cell didn't show up when I checked it? Happy landings

In between the chore list (new light in work area, move weight machine upstairs, taxes, remove ice from part of roof) I was able to fly the MSR and log a bunch of time on the sim. Brought the MSR and EXI 250 to fly in the warehouse at work tonight.

Good to hear those that aren't always able to fly are still on this thread. Gotten windy here so it's been indoor flying. Black Hawk, Vapor and Sukhoi. I didn't crash anything, and nothing broke, so I'm ahead in indoor vs. outdoor stats of late. Tomorrow I'll take the wife's souped up 53#1 for show and tell. I took it the other day, but I ended up being the only one there. That thing is a vertical rocket. Not bad in FF for a coaxial either. Tomorrow, I'll also pick up an Eflite Enticement 3D kit. This is going to be a great indoor/outdoor bird. I'll use the airbrakes for indoor flying to slow it down. Ordering the motor and ESC from Hobbycity in a few days. Happy landings

OK 19k so you want be the only one flying around here I took the G2 to work with me today. Of late its been a little too windy for my skills outdoors unless you want to get up around 4 in the morning and flip on all the floods.....bet the neighbors would just love that turn those darn lights off Dave . Anyways got a couple of batteries through the G2 inside the warehouse before I had to go back to work practiced a little on my nose in almost took a DC10 thrust reverser out with the little heli, it would take about 300 of the G2's to come up to the reverser's size...wonder which one would have won that battle Finished off with a little high flying, I would guess our roof is about 20 to 25 feet up put it to within about 2 foot of the ceiling once, too much iron up there going to keep it at about the 15 foot mark in the future. Was going to do another battery after work but was a little slow getting away from my desk and they cut the lights off before I could get out. Oh well left it there for the night, with the charger will get in some more airtime tomorrow. Dave

Frickn frackn dumba* Boss cost me my best ^%$*&^%(*% flying opportunity in weeks! (&*%T&*^%%&*^$%&*(&)&() Had it all arranged to be home 3 hours before sunset. Sunny, 50 degrees and the Wind was CALM! Time for Super Cub's maiden flight and some heli flying! BUT that (*&$^!(!( BOSS of mine messed up my schedule, got a message wrong and cost me, you guessed it, 3 Hours waiting on something that wasn't supposed to happen until tomorrow. Lost my flying time. HE WILL PAY! I will spend all my time until my next flying day plotting revenge!

What a bummer BT. I'm sure you'll exact a fitting act of revenge. I flew the wife's modified 53#1 at the gym yesterday. It really smokes in FF for a coaxial. It works hard to turn with the elevator full forward and aileron. Slides like a dirt track car. Lots of fun. ;D I also picked up an Eflite Enticement 3D plane yesterday at Hobby Zone. I've got most of the parts to finish except the motor and ESC. My hobbycity cart is starting to look like a Costco shopping cart; Overloaded with "bargains". ;D Today's definitely an outdoor flying day. Let's see if I can bring them all back in one piece for a change. Happy landings

Flew yesterday and today. Yesterday I flew the Black Hawk and it flew great until I was doing some FF touch and go's (that's kind of fun on ice) and smacked the tail. That loosened up the spindle and ended it's day. Tried to fly the Funtana 300, but for some reason the ESC wouldn't initialize the motor. Brought it home and benched it and got it working. Took it out today and it wasn't working again. Flew the ultra mirco Sukhoi and smacked it into a piece of ice on a low pass, too low obviously and busted the cowl area and took a chunk out of the wing, so I had that plus the Funtana and the tail on the BH to repair yesterday afternoon. Today was a bonus day. Flew indoors while the weather was warming in the AM and then out to the lake. Just flew athe P51 and Corsair this AM as I had a bunch of "Honey do's" for the rest of the morning. This afternoon I was back on the lake after lunch. Man it was perfect. Clear, light and variable winds and flew the BH, P51 and Corsair. The Ice fisherman loved the show.

Later yesterday I was taking the Funtana up to look at it and when I turned it over I noticed I STILL HAD IT PLUGGED IN!!! What a newb mistake. About that time the servos dicided to do the servo boogie. Long story short; they are all toast. I decided to retire the bird. I think the ESC's done. The airframe has been repaired so many times even my wife commented on how terrible it looks. Oh well, I had a lot of fun with it. Time to move on. This AM I flew the Corsair and P51 off the ice road. I had discovered I bent the shaft on the BH tail and haven't gotten around to fixing that yet. It was a beautiful morning. Overcast skies clearing. One pack each with no failures or pilot error. Can't wait to go again after lunch. Hope everyone gets to fly this weekend.

That's some awesome flying times you have had, 19k!! I flew pretty much everything yesterday, but it was a little windy for most of the helis. Today was too windy for everything. === I have new foamies built now, a seriously awesome EPP 32" Yak55, an EPP F-22 park flyer (prop in the middle), and a Delta Dart that is a rocket. I have put aside all new depron projects now. EPP ROCKS! It's basically indestructible! I can now pretty much fly the Yak in 3d. I am no pro by any means, but I can hover it, go fast (it goes maybe 50mph), and I'm learning high alpha stuff. It's a blast! I can smack it into the ground, into trees, into myself and it just doesn't break! I built the F-22 and flew it's maiden two days ago. It was not right and yep, full throttle straight into the ground at launch. Oh well, it's made from EPP, too! So, I just picked it up and tried again!!! The only problem with EPP is that it is a floppy foam. You need carbon reinforcements, or at least skewers and the like. I have considerable carbon in the F-22, not so much in the Yak. Well, sorry. I just am hooked on foamies! Best, Kent

Nice looking scratch built foamies kent. How big is that Yak and what do you have for power and elecs? 3D with the right plane just isn't that difficult and it's lots of fun as you've discovered. Precise 3D is altogether another story. I'm about as far away with that with a plane as I am with a heli. I had a similar problem launching the RCPOWERS F117 as you're having with the F22. My first 3 launches went nose in. It takes some up elevator on launch to keep the nose up and a good angle of attack with launch and just the right amount of toss. Not so easy to do without some practice. I have the Eflite Enticement ready to build to replace the Funtana. I've got some scratch builts on the drawing board too. I flew my P51 into a lamp post yesterday on my base leg. Second pilot caused crash in a few weeks. What was I thinking. ???Guess I need to pull my head out of my arse and start paying attention. At least the damage was just foam stuff. It could have been much worse. Edit: I took the P51 out this AM and it flew straight as an arrow. I love this plane. It's been broken into pieces at least 4 times now and still looks and flies great. My wife is after me to build a "Shiny" P51 like some of the ones you see in films and air shows. Well, anything to make the wife happy And I better get it done before Oshkosh because I can just here her walking down the flight line saying, "Why didn't you build a P51 like this or that one over there. They're so shiny." ;D
